comment I hear from readers over and
over is: "Floyd, you always tell us the problems. Tell us the
solutions."
So I want to take a day off from describing the problems that we face and talk about answers instead.
Now, regular readers of this column are never surprised when I talk about Ronald Reagan. I'll admit it... I grow nostalgic at just the mention of his name. I met him for the first time in 1976. I was 15 years old at the time and couldn't even drive to the rally where he appeared.
Reagan captured my imagination. He spoke both about my aspirations and my frustrations, and he gave words to my feelings about America and the world. Most importantly, he offered solutions..
(The specter of such a solution-oriented president... a president that we were alive to witness... must haunt Mr. Obama every day in the Oval Office.)
After graduating from college, I loaded all of my belongings into the back of my Mustang and headed to Washington, D.C. in hopes of being a part of the Reagan Revolution. I was honored to find a job as part of the Reagan team.
As time passed, I stayed connected with the Reagan team. I'm even a member of the Reagan Alumni Association. Today, I received an email from the head of the association, Lou Cordia, reminding me to buy a copy of the just-released book, 11 Principles of a Reagan Conservative, by Grove City College Professor Paul Kengor.
My book is ordered and on the way, and now I'm encouraging you to consider buying it. Paul Kengor is an excellent writer, and this is the latest in a series of books that he's written about President Reagan and the men who surrounded him.

The 11
Principles That Still Hold True Today
The Reagan
philosophy was successful because it was simple. Rather than relying on the
elites to guide every decision, Reagan instead looked to tradition and what
Adam Smith called the invisible hand. It's this simplicity that captures
Reagan's brilliance.
In his book, Kengor distills Reagan's philosophy down to 11 principles. It's a simple list: freedom, faith, family, sanctity and dignity of human life, American exceptionalism, the Founders' wisdom and vision, lower taxes, limited government, peace through strength, anti-Communism and belief in the individual.
I won't argue with Kengor's list... even though, from my personal experience with President Reagan, I would contend that the list could be boiled down to five simpler principles.
Regardless of whether the list is 11, 10, or even five, the amazing aspect about President Reagan - which those who knew him would attest to - was how comfortable he was with ideas, especially the ideas of freedom. These principles came naturally to him. He didn't have to call a pollster... He didn't have to hire a high-paid spokesman to put words in his mouth. Ronald Reagan had an inner compass, and he was never a degree off true north.
I have worked for many politicians in the years since I worked for Reagan, and none has been as completely comfortable with ideas as President Reagan was.
And as I review this list of principles today, I'm as convinced as ever that if we would only, to quote Reagan, "get the government out of the way of the American people," then our problems (which seem impenetrable) could be solved.
The solutions don't require additional studies, surveys and academic reports. The solutions are right before our eyes. They're in the lives, the minds and the possibilities of our fellow citizens. We need to just let America work its magic with freedom.
Thank you, Ronald Wilson Reagan. It's been over 30 years since you were first elected president, and you're still pointing the way. All we have to do is listen and have the faith that you had in our fellow man.

Amenper: La Censura de los Medios de Comunicación
A
los cubanos que pasamos por la revolución comunista no hay que decirnos lo que
hace falta para implantar el sistema en un país de economía de mercado, el
mejor maestro es vivir a través del proceso.
Pero
para los que no han pasado por esta experiencia, es conveniente que estudien lo
que el manifiesto comunista aconseja para la implantación del sistema, les es
indispensable leer los libros de Karl Marx- Es necesario, porque ya que hemos
visto que no oyen a los que pasaron por el comunismo, dicen que “no podemos ser
objetivos”. "Eso no puede pasar aquí"
Ya
hemos visto como los venezolanos no nos oyeron a los que pasamos por la
transición, y prefirieron caer en los cantos de sirenas de los alumnos de Marx
y después cuando se dieron cuenta es demasiado tarde- Es ahora el turno para el
pueblo americano.
Las
métodos claves para una revolución comunista son el control de la mayor
cantidad posible de los medios de comunicación, para establecer propaganda y
más propaganda contra el sistema establecido utilizando, mentiras,
sofismas y ocultación del propósito.
Una
vez que tomado el poder los métodos claves más tristes que usan para mantenerlo
son, "intimidación", "totalitarismo" y "tiranía".
Estamos en el principio del establecimiento del sistema y para nuestra
congoja, está dando resultado. La propaganda no puede ser mejor por
el control de la mayoría de los medios de comunicación.
Ya se sienten cómodos para iniciar proceso acelerado de cambio en este
segundo término y vimos el asalto
con la más reciente amenaza de la administración de Obama a la fibra
americana de la libertad de prensa utilizando a la FCC.
La
Comisión Federal de comunicaciones (FCC) ya sea por propia voluntad (dudoso) o
actuando como agencia cómplice al servicio de la
administración (probable), había anunciado medidas previstas para regular
directamente en los establecimientos de la radio, televisión e incluso las redacciones
de periódicos (aunque no tiene ninguna autoridad sobre el último) para, en
esencia, asegurarse de que el cuarto poder está cubriendo noticias a
satisfacción del gobierno.
La participación
supuestamente debía ser voluntaria, pero sin duda con la renovación de la
licencia sobre difusión de comunicación y el IRS listo para abalanzarse sobre
propiedades en un impactante asalto a la primera enmienda esperaban que
todos fueran “voluntarios”.
Esto
no es una sorpresa para los que conocemos al comunismo, ya estamos
familiarizado con este concepto de la palabra “voluntario” y estamos
acostumbrados a la intervención directa del gobierno en los medios de
comunicación, ¿recuerdan las “coletillas” en los periódicos del principio de la
revolución cubana?
Es
algo sorprendente como vemos la historia repetirse.
Esto
no era una misión objetiva e imparcial, como afirmaba el FCC. La mentalidad
totalitaria de la administración de Obama, ya no contenta meramente en usar
nuestros impuestos para propagar su mensaje decididamente
antiamericano de re-distribucionismo y dependencia, ahora pretendía controlar a
los mensajeros también.
Pero
tuvieron un error de cálculo sobre los medios de comunicación que todavía no se
han plegado al gobierno, que no temen a las amenazas- Ante sus protestas, la
FCC dio marcha atrás el pasado viernes. Pero hay que observar que ha sido
declarado como una dilatación no un abandono del propósito de censura. Tenemos
que recordar que vienen las elecciones parciales y no quieren hacer olas.
Es
importante para todo el pueblo americano, acostumbrado a la mayor libertad de
expresión de todos los tiempos que se mantenga alerta ante estos
acontecimientos. Los medios de comunicación que todavía se mantienen
imparciales, independientes y por qué no, denunciando diariamente el camino al
socialismo de esta administración, son los que lograron el “arrepentimiento” de
la FCC.
Es
nuestro deber para la supervivencia de la democracia, el que estemos vigilantes
para preservar el sistema de vida americano tradicional y que les demos el
apoyo a la mediática libre que nos queda y que usemos el voto para expresarnos
mientras todavía podamos ejercerlo.
Amenper: La verdadera Re-Distribución de la
Riqueza
En
el discurso socialista, algunas frases que nos dice el orador o el escritor de
sus opiniones si las interpretamos literalmente, las frases transmiten
sentimientos agradables.
Pero
el verdadero significado de estas frases más que sus palabras son las que traen
el mensaje ideológico que viene del hecho de que personas con ciertas creencias
políticas utilizan habitualmente estas frases para justificar sus políticas de
gobierno preferido.
La
oímos en todos los idiomas, son más que palabras son sentimientos cargados de
la ideología política socialistas de re-distribución y colectivismo.
Una
conocida frase "progresista" hoy es "queremos una economía de
prosperidad compartida". Superficialmente, esta frase es inobjetable.
¿Después de todo, quien quiere una economía en la cual prosperidad es acaparado
por una pequeña fracción de la población? El problema es que, mientras todos
están de acuerdo con el objetivo expresado por esta frase, hay desacuerdo sobre
los mejores medios para lograr este objetivo.
Los
"Progresistas" descargan hoy en día el término "una prosperidad
compartida" como código para el "gobierno debe redistribuir la
riqueza interviniendo activamente en la economía de mercado".
Vamos a considerar el intercambio simple de mercado.
La
Sra. Pérez va a comprar yuca en Publix con los ingresos que ha obtenido la Sra.
Pérez o su esposo (de lo contrario ella no hubiera podido comprar la yuca en
Publix) La compra de la yuca trae ingreso a los accionistas de Publix (Publix
de lo contrario no habría podido construir un almacén y emplear a
trabajadores a vender la yuca.); Los trabajadores de Publix reciben ingresos
(de lo contrario no habrían escogido a trabajar para Publix) Los agricultores
de Homestead reciben ingresos (de lo contrario no habrían escogido vender sus
yucas a Publix). Los agricultores de Homestead compran con sus ingresos un
producto que se llama Suero Oral, que es el producto que fabrica el esposo de
la Sra. Perez (de lo contrario la Sra. Pérez no hubiera podido comprar la yuca
en Publix)
Todo
esto ha creado movimientos empresariales de Publix, el esposo de la Sra. Pérez,
los agricultores y los empleados de Publix, para construir tiendas, vender
productos e innovadoramente gestionar sus inventarios y a los empleados de
Publix para construir sus viviendas, que a la vez producen trabajo a los
empleados y empresarios de la construcción y así sucesivamente en toda la
sociedad..
Estos
inversores, sin embargo, ganan dinero sólo porque permiten a los
trabajadores y los consumidores ganar directa o indirectamente.
En
definitiva, el éxito de Publix en aumentar sus ganancias causa una prosperidad
que compartida por muchos otros, en el simple caso la Sra. Pérez que compra una
buena yuca cultivada por agricultores que reciben ingresos los cuales le
devuelven su dinero con ganancias cuando compran Suero Oral, con la
distribución compartida con los accionistas de Publix y sus empleados, y los
empleados de la empresa del esposo de la Sra Pérez y los agricultores y sus
empleados. Todo naturalmente ejecutado en este círculo redistributivo de la
economía de mercado.
En
una economía de mercado individuos pueden disfrutar de grandes aumentos en su
bienestar que son disfrutados por otros, pero casi todo el mundo gana si
envuelve su trabajo en el sistema.
En
el mercado, un inversionista, productor o corporación que intenta obtener
riqueza al mismo tiempo mejorar el bienestar de los demás fallará. Pudiera
parecer un concepto de ambición y egoismo, pero esta ambición,sin
proponérselo redistribuye la riqueza de todos los protagonistas en el sistema.
Todos en la economía de mercado se mueven por su ambición de obtener ingresos,
pero en el proceso los ingresos se re-distribuyen mucho mejor que si destruyen
la motivación de la ambición productiva.
No
puedes re-distribuir el producto que desaparece, y esto lo vemos en los
países socialistas..
La
lógica de cómo los mercados necesariamente causan prosperidad compartida es
evidente para el que lo quiera ver sin que se opaque por la nebulosa emoción de
la envidia. Y otras pruebas de que los mercados de crean y comparten la
prosperidad la podemos ver a nuestro alrededor en todos los aspectos de nuestra
vida. Si duda de esta afirmación la puedes ver, examinando la ropa, tus
espejuelos, tus prendas todo lo que llevas encima ahora. ¿Las hiciste? ¿Las
puedes hacer? Considera también los alimentos que comiste recientemente. ¿Los
cultivaste? ¿Los elaboraste?
Así
sucesivamente para casi todo lo demás que consumes diariamente. alguien lo hizo
por la ambición de tener ingresos, y en el proceso pudistes adquirir estos
biene.
Esta
lógica no es simplista, prueba de cómo los mercados crean prosperidad y causan
que comparten ampliamente esta prosperidad está respaldada también por estudios
académicos. Quizás estos estudios y pruebas académicas no se le dan
la visibilidad suficiente, ya sea porque como los beneficios de la economía de
mercado era un hecho aceptado en este país, no había necesidad de insistir en
el hecho. O quizás porque los “progresistas” al controlar los medios de
comunicación, prefieren usar las cargadas palabras socialistas para tapar las
pruebas de las re-distribución de las riquezas bajo la economía de mercado

Street article by Mary Anastasia O´Grady, we could see again that she is the
best informed journalist when it comes to Latin American issues.
We could go further, Mary,
unfortunately is probably the only journalist in the Anglo-press that
understands the Latin American issues.
O'Grady: Behind the Turmoil in
Venezuela
Cuba is worried about losing
100,000 barrels of oil per day if its man in Caracas falls. MARY
ANASTASIA O'GRADY
The bloodshed in Caracas over the past 12 days brings
to mind the 2009 Summit of the Americas in Port of Spain, where President Obama
greeted Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chávez with a huge grin and a warm handshake. A couple
of months later the State Department attempted to force Honduras to reinstall
pro-Chávez president Manuel Zelaya, who had been deposed for violating the
constitution.
Brows were knitted throughout the Americas. Why did
the U.S. president favor the Venezuelan dictator, protégé of Fidel Castro, over
Honduras, which still had a rule of law, press freedom and pluralism?
Fast forward to last Wednesday, after four peaceful student-protesters
had been confirmed as having been killed by the government's armed minions. Mr.
Obama took notice, pronouncing the brutality "unacceptable." That
must have been comforting to hear amid the gun shots and pummeling on the
streets of Caracas.
That same night the government of Nicolás Maduro
—Chávez's handpicked successor—unleashed a wave of terror across the country.
According to Venezuelan blogs and Twitter posts, the National Guard and police
went on a tear, firing their weapons indiscriminately, beating civilians,
raiding suspected student hide-outs, destroying private property and launching
tear-gas canisters. Civilian militia on motor bikes added to the mayhem. The
reports came from Valencia, Mérida, San Cristóbal, Maracaibo, Puerto Ordaz and
elsewhere, as well as the capital.
Venezuela has promised 100,000 barrels of oil per day
to Cuba, and in exchange Cuban intelligence runs the Venezuelan state security
apparatus. The Cubans clearly are worried about losing the oil if their man in
Caracas falls. Opposition leader Leopoldo López, who heads the Popular Will
political party, spent several years building a network of young recruits
around the country. Last week's unrest is a testament to that organization, and
it is why the 42-year-old Mr. López is now behind bars.
In Ukraine, the European
Union has
pressured the government to reach a compromise with the opposition. Venezuelans
are getting no such help from the neighbors. Only Colombia, Chile and Panama
have objected to the crackdown. The rest of the hemisphere doesn't have even a
passing interest in human rights when the violations come from the left. The
Organization of American States is supposed to defend civil liberties, but
since Chilean Socialist José Miguel Insulza took the OAS helm in 2005, it has
earned a disgraceful record as a shill for Cuba.
Venezuelans seeking change face daunting odds. The
crowds in the streets of Caracas in recent days have not been significantly
bigger than in many prior-year protests, including 2002, when a march in
Caracas almost unseated Chávez.
This time the repression has been fierce. Besides
injuries and death, hundreds have been detained and it would not be surprising if
many are given long sentences. Mr. Maduro needs scapegoats for the violence he
unleashed. Iván Simonovis, the former head of the Caracas Metropolitan Police,
has been a political prisoner since 2004. Chávez made him take the fall for the
17 people killed in the April 2002 uprising even though video evidence points
to chavista snipers. Photos of the once-fit policeman,
frail and gravely ill from the inhuman circumstances of his long incarceration,
are chilling.
Another problem is the division within the opposition.
The governor of the state of Miranda,Henrique Capriles, represented a broad coalition of anti-chavista parties when he ran for president in 2013.
But when he conceded to Mr. Maduro amid strong evidence that the election had
been stolen, Mr. López and other members of the opposition broke with Capriles
supporters.
Students have also been hamstrung by a communications
blockade. The government controls all Venezuelan television and radio airwaves.
When the violence broke out, it forced satellite providers to drop the
Colombian NTN channel. Internet service has been cut in many places.
Getting the very poor on board for a regime change is
a challenge. Some still seechavismo as their
government, even if they have no love for Mr. Maduro and suffer from high
inflation. Others don't dare speak out, for fear of losing state jobs or their
lives. The barrios are terrorized by the chavista militia.
Mr. Maduro says he will use every weapon to quell the
unrest. On
Fridayafternoon the son of a Venezuelan friend sent me
photos from Caracas of troops massing at the Francisco de Miranda air base in
the middle of the city. The Cuban-backed Venezuelan high command, Cuban
intelligence (the country is thick with agents) and plainclothes militia will
play rough.
On the other hand, the government is bankrupt, and
food and other shortages will get worse. Mr. Maduro may pacify Caracas, but
food is harder to find in the interior of the country than in the capital. It
is there that the fires of rebellion, burning for the first time under chavismo, might race out of control. Many army officers
come from lower-middle-class families, and it is not clear that they will stand
by and watch large numbers of civilians being slaughtered. Many resent the
Cuban occupation.
What comes next is hard to predict. But no one should
underestimate Cuba's comparative advantage: repression.

Hace unos 20 o 25 años, el hijo del comisionado George Valdez
De Miami fueron arrestados y golpeados por policías.
El caso empezó a las 3 de la mañana con el hijo y un amigo
regresando de una fiesta, sin dinero. Pero pararon delante del
antiguo correo
de la calle 8, cerca de Sarusi's a mirar una
prostituta.
Pero, era una mujer policía encubierta. Le propuso sexo, tipo
Mónica Lewinsky y los chicos aceptaron
aunque no tenían ningún
dinero.
La prostituta, se declara policía y les dice que quedan
detenidos.
Los chicos, que estaban dentro del carro, salen disparados, ella
se agarra del carro y es arrastrada unos
metros, hasta que llegan
sus compañeros policías.
Los chicos son sacados del carro y golpeados, antes de saber,
que era uno de ellos, el hijo del político
comisionando.
Los cargos, fueron despues retirados, pero si estos chicos
fueran
hijos de otros tendrían en su expediente un
intento de asesinato
a un policía! Pero, eso fue hace
años...

Por una falta leve, de cruzar la calle indebida, una jovencita,
es
maltratada por la policía.
Mientras Toda Esta Represión Es Usada
Diariamente En Las Calles De USA...

Los Banqueros han robado, miles de millones, han tirar

miles a la calle y cerrar negocios y

Obama empezó su intervención lamentando el poco tiempo que
había pasado en Toluca, apenas 9 horas, que le dejaron con ganas de probar un
manjar típico de
la zona. Lo que no sabía el mandatario estadounidense era el lío en el que se
iba a meter con esa frase.
“Quiero agradecerles
por la gran hospitalidad. Lamentablemente no estaré suficiente
tiempo porque es un viaje de negocios y por ejemplo, no he probado el legendario
chorizo de Toluca.Espero que la próxima vez que venga pueda
comerlo", manifestó.
Si los asistentes a la conferencia, en su mayoría empresarios
e intelectuales, lograron
contener la risa es un misterio porque la cámara estaba fija en la
figura de Obama, aunque sí es cierto que se oyen algunas risas ahogadas. Los
que no tuvieron ningún reparo
en comenzar a hacer bromas fueron los internautas en las redes sociales. Empezaron a aparecer memes por doquier
burlándose del presidente estadounidense
por querer volver a Toluca “a probar el chorizo”.

Y es que el significado de esta expresión, inocente para cualquiera que no
sea mexicano, tiene una clara
referencia sexual en el país azteca, ya que se utiliza como una
expresión popular para hablar de una felación. De hecho, la palabra chorizo es
utilizada habitualmente como sinónimo de pene.
Fue la nota de color a una cumbre exprés en la que los tres países acordaron mejorar la competitividad
en Norteamérica, impulsando el comercio y la inversión.
También promover una mayor liberalización comercial en Asia-Pacífico.
Sin embargo, este encuentro nunca será recordado ni por los
anhelos energéticos estadounidenses, ni por los acuerdos comerciales, ni
siquiera por la visita del presidente estadounidense a México. Esta ya es “la cumbre del chorizo”.

Staff’ on Africa Junket
In the wake of Michelle Obama’s revelation to Jimmy
Fallon that her daughters Sasha and Malia “want nothing to do with us,” (a
feeling many share), it is worthwhile noting that just a couple of years ago
the First Lady officially termed them “Senior Staff” for official purposes. We
know this only thanks to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit filed by
Judicial Watch. The organization had at first requested the information
pursuant to FOIA, but when denied, was forced to sue.
The trip took place June 21-27, 2011, and was taken by
First Lady Michelle Obama, her family and her staff to South Africa and
Botswana. Judicial Watch writes:

to U.S. Department of Defense’s published hourly rates for the C-32A aircraft
used for the trip, Judicial Watch calculated the total cost to American
taxpayers was $424,142 for use of the aircraft (34.8 flight hours x $12,188 per
hour). (The C-32 is a specially configured military version of the Boeing 757.)
Other expenses – meals (off the plane), transportation, security, various
services, etc. – have yet to be disclosed.

passenger manifests confirm the presence of Obama’s daughter’s, Malia and Sasha
on the trip. The two girls are listed as “Senior Staff.” The manifests also
list Mrs. Obama’s mother, Marian Robinson, and niece and nephew, Leslie and
