nhr.com—Anoche la cadena nacional de cable FOXNEWS criticó fuertemente al
congresista demócrata Joe García por sus declaraciones de que el sistema
comunista funciona.
El congresista de Florida Joe
García pronunció la frase en medio de un encuentro virtual sobre la reforma migratoria enEstados Unidos. García, un abanderado de esa lucha,
estaba diciendo que dos de las ciudades más seguras en Estados Unidos están en
la frontera con México, y explicó que la razón es que “el comunismo funciona.
Si le das a todo el mundo un buen trabajo en el gobierno, pues no hay delitos”.
Joe García, hablando de la
reforma migratoria, durante la conferencia, exponía la manera en que la
Ciudad de El Paso se había convertido en una de las más seguras de Estados
Unidos, a pesar de hallarse en la frontera con Ciudad Juárez, uno de los
mayores centros de narcotráfico en el hemisferio, con una intensa actividad
criminal.
“Si le das a todo el mundo un
buen trabajo en el gobierno, no hay delitos”, dijo García y a fin de educar
sobre esta situación, el congresista comentó que “el comunismo funciona”.
La comparecencia de García a
través de “Google Hangout” fue realizada desde la oficina del congresista
federal, donde en las últimas horas enviaron unas declaraciones a los medios de
prensa asegurando “que se estaba malinterpretando la frase y que
cualquiera que conozca la trayectoria de García sabe que no defendería el
comunismo”.
Pero desde el Partido
Republicano enviaron otras declaración en la que aseguran que “la libertad
y la democracia dejaron las ideas antagónicas del Congresista García
en la historia. Es el momento de que los líderes apoyen una mayor libertad
económica”, según dijo Izzi Santa, directora de comunicaciones del partido.
Las declaraciones llegan en
medio de una disputada contienda por el distrito 26. García busca la
reelección, mientras que por el Partido Republicano hay tres fuerte
contrincantes disputándose la primaria del distrito: Carlos Curbelo, David
Rivera y Joe Martínez.
Hace unos días García fue el
centro de otra controversia en la internet a raíz de un confuso video en el que
tocaba su oreja, se sacaba algo de la misma y luego lo saboreaba.
El candidato republicano a las
primarias Carlos Curbelo critico las declaraciones de Joe García en un correo
electrónico que nos hizo llegar:
“El endoso de Joe García al
comunismo es ofensivo y vergonzoso para nuestra comunidad. Lo único que Joe
García ha demostrado una vez mas es que el es incapaz de servir al Congreso, y
mucho menos llevar un liderazgo para
probar leyes de alto perfil. Nuestro distrito merece un congresista
eficaz en que podamos confiar en Washington; No alguien que constantemente no
pone en un aprieto y llega a los titulares por razones equivocadas”.
Por su parte el comisionado Joe
Martínez, quien también se postula para el escaño del Distrito 26, nos envía
unas declaraciones sobre el tema, “Convirtiéndose en uno de sus muchos
comentarios controversiales, el congresista García dijo que “hemos probado que
funciona el comunismo”. Esto fue un intento superficial para criticar las
preocupaciones de los republicanos para proteger nuestras fronteras. Pero el
congresista Garcia en realidad es el mismo
trabajando y tratando de demostrar que el comunismo funciona mediante el apoyo
a Obamacare y demás legislaciónes que perjudican la capacidad y el duro trabajo
de la clase media americana para ganarse la vida en nuestro sistema de libre
mercado.
Como se sabe otro gran
escándalo en el que ha estado involucrado Joe García, fue cuando su jefe de oficina
admitió haber cometido fraude con boletas ausentes, además la campaña pasada de
García permanece bajo investigación del Buro Federal de Investigaciones FBI,
que investiga alegaciones de haber financiado ilegalmente la campaña de un
potencial candidato postulado.

Florida Sen. Marco Rubio said the Obama administration was incompetent
and unable to separate politics from actual crises that affect Americans.
"This is a campaign that was very good at messaging, but they have no competence in terms of governing," Rubio said during an appearance on "The O'Reilly Factor" on Fox News.

The Obama White House has a "systemic problem of governing" and a visceral reaction to "circle the wagons to protect their people" as opposed to holding them accountable for poor management, Rubio told host Bill O'Reilly.
The administration is "more concerned about what they’re going to say than what they’re going to do," said Rubio, a possible 2016 GOP candidate for president. "For them, it’s an opportunity to message as opposed to an opportunity to solve it."
Administration officials, he said, interpret any criticism as "partisan politics" instead of legitimate concerns.
The senator, elected in 2010, said he has fielded a "significant" number of constituent complaints about the Veterans Administration. Yet, Rubio said, when when they were brought to the White House’s attention, he was accused of playing politics to "embarrass" Democrats.
The administration is currently being criticized for a scandal where veterans have allegedly died while waiting indefinitely for care at VA hospitals across the country. A whistleblower revealed that the VA kept a secret waiting list of patients in an effort to deceive Washington that timely care is being provided.
"This is a very valid and legitimate complaint that people have, a very serious crisis," Rubio said.

Democrat Says “We’ve
Proved Communism Works!” /
Representative Joe Garcia (D-FL) has had a rough couple of weeks.
First there was the infamous “ear-wax
eating” debacle. (Check out the video of Rep. Garcia seemingly EATING his ear
wax at the bottom of this article.)
Now, he’s said something so ridiculous,
that I’m sure Florida voters are looking to have him committed.
“The
safest city in America is El Paso, Texas. It happens to be across the border
from the most dangerous city in the America’s, which is Juarez. Right?”
“Two of the safest cities in America are
on the border with Mexico. Of course, the reason is we’ve proved that communism
works. If you give everybody a good government job, there is no crime.”
Um. What?
There are a few levels of ridiculousness
here.
First, you should understand that Rep.
Garcia wants to see comprehensive immigration reform passed. He is a fan of amnesty
and seems to believe that we should open our border with Mexico. Secondly, El
Paso is not even close to the safest city in America. According to Neighborhood
Scout El Paso is more dangerous than 73% of American cities. Third, El Paso’sunemployment rate is HIGHER than the national average – so his job and
safety arguments are garbage.
The only thing Rep. Garcia gets right here
is that Juarez, Mexico is very dangerous.
And even with the most dangerous city in
the America’s sitting across the border – Rep. Garcia
wants to open the border. What
kind of sense does that make? NONE.
No one, anywhere, has ever proved that
communism works.
Because it doesn’t.
I would remind Rep. Garcia of what the
brilliant economist and thinker F.A. Hayek once said:“Fascism is the stage reached after
communism has proved an illusion.”
This should be a not-so-subtle reminder to
everyone of what Democrats really believe.
My grandfather emigrated (with his family,
including my father) from Cuba in the 1960’s on Freedom Flights. I once asked
him to explain to me what Cuba was like and how fleeing Communism shaped his
political beliefs and the way he voted. He said it so perfectly. He almost
always voted Republican because, “Not every
Democrat is a Communist… but every Communist is a Democrat.”

is becoming a “House of Horrors” KRIS ZANE
Veterans Administration “death panels” have been
in the news lately, first being discovered in Phoenix, now day by day being
revealed across the nation.
I have been inside the Veterans
Administration healthcare system for over a decade, and one phrase comes
to mind: a “house of horrors.” Aside from casting aside old and infirm veterans
too expensive to treat—the so-called “death panels”—going to a Veterans
Hospital is always a nightmare: most of the staff treat us like second-class
citizens. Veterans are placed in wheelchairs and gurneys and forgotten about. A
wait to see a doctor is literally an all-day activity. You get there early in
the morning, and you’re not done until five or six in the evening.
I once spent six hours in the emergency room with a gash in my arm inches from
an artery. After six hours of bleeding on the floor and going in and out of
consciousness, I was finally seen—not by a doctor, but by a very green medical
student, who barely knew how to stitch up the wound. His incompetence later led
to infection and a pronounced scar.
At the VA hospital, you always run into crackpots—not
the veterans, but the staff. One doctor I saw spent an hour not attending to
the excruciating pain in my hand (a separate incident), but telling me about a
new religion he had discovered. I sat there while he printed out religious
literature from a government computer on government time. Afterwards, I went to
the “Patient Advocate Office”—where veterans are supposed to go if they have a
problem. The “Advocate” told me I could fill out a complaint, but it was a
waste of time. The doctor, being a government employee, the advocate explained,
was “untouchable.”
This is just the tip of the iceberg of some of the
things I’ve experienced at the Veterans Affairs’ “house of horrors.” Why do we
go to the VA, often when have other avenues to obtain medical care? It’s the
same for Thomas Breen, a 70-year-old veteran in Phoenix who was put on a phony
waiting list that lasted months when he needed to be seen immediately. Breen’s
wife explained that he was proud of his military service and refused to go
anywhere else except the VA. Despite the VA being a “house of horrors,” there
are other veterans around you—providing a feeling of camaraderie. Some of the
staff, mostly veterans like you, do treat you with respect. So you continue to
go—even though there’s a possibility the VA may
actually kill you…which it did in Thomas Breen’s case.
Several years ago, I worked in the State of
California’s Operation Welcome Home program. The multimillion dollar program
was designed to help veterans recently discharged from the military after
serving in Afghanistan and Iraq. The computer system that generated the contact
information for veterans was broken for several months, so the staff sat around
and did nothing, playing video games and taking extended lunches. The
supervisor, drawing a five-figure a year salary, rarely showed up. When I got
tired of sitting around, I became proactive and visited a veterans homeless
shelter on March Air Reserve Base. For two weeks, I helped veterans find jobs,
typed up resumes, and helped them apply for disability. When my supervisor
discovered I was doing something she didn’t authorize, I was reprimanded and
told to go back to the office and sit around until the computer system was
fixed.

nation, and most citizens believe they should be honored for their service. Who
wouldn't, frankly?
Well, the answer is the Obama-managed Department of Veterans Affairs, whose hospitals have been falsifying medical treatment records to ostensibly improve their wait times.
And thanks to an investigation by The Washington Times, we now know that the scandal goes straight to the top.
Barack Obama himself was briefed, yet he never lifted a finger to help our veterans who were in need of care. Even for an administration that has caused more scandals than we can count, the Veterans Affairs scandal is completely outrageous.
Well, the answer is the Obama-managed Department of Veterans Affairs, whose hospitals have been falsifying medical treatment records to ostensibly improve their wait times.
And thanks to an investigation by The Washington Times, we now know that the scandal goes straight to the top.

A Colossal Failure
The
Washington Times reported,
"The Obama administration received clear notice more than five years ago
that VA medical facilities were reporting inaccurate waiting times and
experiencing scheduling failures that threatened to deny veterans timely
healthcare."
Meanwhile, VA officials told Obama, "This is not only a data integrity issue in which [Veterans Health Administration] reports unreliable performance data; it affects quality of care by delaying - and potentially denying - deserving veterans timely care."
But Obama took no action.
The result? Needless death. In fact, at least 42 veterans' deaths can be directly attributed to having care denied when it should have been provided. We've also learned that some veterans committed suicide rather than continue waiting for necessary care.
On Monday, FOX News reported on the matter: "Dr. Margaret Moxness, who says she was employed at the Huntington VA Medical Center in Charleston, West Virginia, from 2008 to 2010, told 'Fox & Friends' on Monday that she was told to delay treatment, even after she told supervisors they needed immediate care. She said at least two patients committed suicide while waiting for treatment between appointments."
Not surprisingly, the Obama team is once again trying to shift blame.
Appearing on Face the Nation last Sunday, White House Chief of Staff Denis McDonough claimed that Obama "is madder than hell" over media reports that Veterans Affairs personnel were falsifying information about medical care delays.
McDonough went on to say Obama recently "deployed additional staff over to the Veterans Administration to dig into this, to find out if this is a series of isolated cases or whether this is a systemic issue that we need to address with wholesale reform."
Based on McDonough's comments alone, you'd think that Obama learned of the scandal at the same time as the rest of us... that he wasn't knowledgeable prior, but once he learned what was happening, he quickly took action. Unfortunately, none of McDonough's statements are true.
Obama knew.
Obama knew for at least five years.
And he did nothing as the veterans' death toll mounted.
I decided to speak to a few members on the Hill, and they told me they plan to push back against the Obama administration's lackadaisical attitude toward the veterans' deaths.
House Majority Leader Eric Cantor said this morning, "The American people are frustrated, especially when those who have served our country in uniform have been treated the way they have, and God forbid, who have perished because of the mess at the VA."
He concluded: "I will tell you I am disturbed by statements out of the White House that say that the president heard about this in the news. It is time for our president to come forward and to take responsibility for this - and to do the right thing by these veterans and begin to show that he actually cares about getting it straight."

Committee this week, Federal Bureau of Investigations Director James Comey
seemed to side with those concerned about the government’s expanding reach.
“I believe people should be suspicious of
government power,” he asserted. “I am.”
Though he denied his agency has initiated any programs that put personal safety
or security at risk, he noted that
skepticism of those in power is an important quality in a free society.
“I think this country was founded by
people who were worried about government power,” Comey continued, “so they
divided it among three branches.”
As for the FBI, he explained that any
policies meant to extract private information are used in the pursuit and
neutralization of impending threats. He cited successful operations that have
led to the apprehension of dangerous criminals as justification for his
agency’s actions.
In an attempt to assuage fears regarding
an invasion of privacy, he attested that the FBI behaves responsibly when
tracking down criminals – including potential terrorists at work within the
U.S.
Comey, whose entire service as FBI
director has been under the cloud created by NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden,
said recent accusations against federal investigative agencies have made his
job more difficult. His agency has been the subject of criticism based on its
pursuit of foreign terror suspects on American soil.
He alleged that it has become more
difficult “to find the space and time to talk about what I do and why I do it.”
In the end, though, he said the safety of
American citizens warrants the use of legal means to acquire vital
intelligence.
His comments came just a day before the
U.S. House is set to consider the USA Freedom Act, which would restrict some
efforts by the government to obtain personal information.

Local officials in New Mexico warn a move by the Obama administration to designate nearly a half-million acres
as a national monument could open up a crime corridor making it easier for
illegal immigrants to cross the border and for drug cartels to operate
undetected.
President Obama plans to make the announcement
Wednesday afternoon, setting aside 498,815 acres of land as the Organ
Mountains-Desert Peaks National Monument. Unlike national parks which must be
approved by Congress, the president has the power to designate national
monuments.
But Dona Ana County Sheriff Tom Garrison
told FoxNews.com the monument will likely hamper law enforcement’s ability to
patrol the area. That’s because nearly half of the land will be set aside as
wilderness. When that happens, the area will be largely closed off to vehicles,
including police cars.
Garrison said his concerns have fallen on deaf ears,
and says he’s been shut out of the process.

Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee event in Maryland, President Obama accused Republicans of putting politics
above the good of the nation and hinted that because of that they aren’t patriotic.
Obama attacked Republicans for pushing to
investigate his failures in Benghazi, Libya, actions that resulted in the
deaths of four Americans, including our U.S. ambassador.
The President told Party faithful that all
of the criticism that Republicans have for his administration are “not
serious,” especially their concerns over Obamacare and Benghazi.
“The debate we’re having right now is
about, what, Benghazi? Obamacare? And it becomes this endless loop. It’s not
serious. It’s not speaking to the real concerns that people have,” he said.
Yet it
was his comments on what he feels the GOP is and what he wanted his opposition
to become that were most pointed.
