Leaders Who Fail To Own Up To Mistakes Are Unfit For Office
"Those willing to ignore evil for
political reasons should question their fitness for leadership of our
nation."
The recent
escalating arguments over whether there should be further congressional
hearings on Benghazi are troubling. The fact that there are substantial numbers
of people who feel that there is nothing more to investigate when four American
lives were lost (and no one has answered for this crime) provides an indication
of how far our sense of justice has slipped.
This should not
be a partisan issue because the implications of ignoring or prevaricating about
the underlying mistakes will have far-reaching consequences. The United States
has diplomatic establishments throughout the world; and if they can be attacked
without consequences, it greatly diminishes our influence despite any
protestations to the contrary.
What does it
say about our judgment if we have diplomatic establishments for which we make
inadequate provisions for protection? This is especially disturbing because it
was revealed that requests by the consulate in Benghazi for more protection
were refused. There had been attacks on the consulate not long before the fatal
attack, and hostile actions had been taken against the British–which they were
wise enough to react to appropriately.
Even more
confounding was the decision to abandon our personnel at the consulate because
someone decided that our military forces could not reach them in time to effect
a rescue. How could such a decision be made when no one knew how long the
hostile action would last? Several military personnel who were in the area
ignored orders to stand down and instead rushed to the consulate with assault
weapons–and resisted hostile forces long enough to allow some of their
colleagues to escape, while sacrificing their own lives. Their heroic actions
demonstrate the bravery and loyalty that characterize American military forces.
I feel certain that those men had no doubt in their minds that reinforcements
were on the way, and that if they could just hold out long enough, their
efforts would be rewarded.
When our top
officials make decisions to abandon our own people because they feel the
situation is hopeless, they also abandon the concept of American exceptionalism
and create doubt in the minds of all future military participants about the
intention of their superiors to expend maximum effort to preserve their lives
when they have sacrificed everything for our nation.
Making mistakes
is part of being human, but the ever-increasing deception that is necessary to
cover those mistakes when honesty is abandoned is evil. Those willing to ignore
evil for political reasons should question their fitness for leadership of our
nation. In this case, a blatant falsehood was promoted — namely that the Obama
administration had international terrorist activity directed at America under
control, and that the Benghazi incident was a spontaneous action resulting from
the outrage of locals who had viewed an offensive anti-Islamic video. Undue
importance was placed on promoting an image of U.S. strength during the weeks
immediately preceding the presidential election of 2012.
Again, I must
emphasize that if we, the American people, the American press, and the American
political class, participate in the cover-up or ignore such an important story,
we contribute to the demise of honesty and truth as pillars of our governing
structure. In the book of Proverbs, King Solomon put it this way: “If a ruler listens
to lies, those who serve him will be wicked.”
We
also should be concerned about the attempt by some to ignore or downgrade the
significance of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) scandal. The fact that
something this contrary to the concept of freedom can happen in a country based
on constitutional values and be characterized as a “phony scandal” by people
who supposedly have the best interests of this country at heart again points to
the danger of placing partisan politics above truth and honesty.
When
politicians huddle and try to figure out ways to defend their leader or their
party and ignore the well-being of their nation, the people must take notice
and do everything within their power to make sure they are represented by those
who share their beliefs, and not by those who are simply party loyalists.
Obviously,
the IRS was used in inappropriate ways; or Lois Lerner would not have pleaded
the Fifth Amendment. It is more than disturbing that the president of the
United States and many in his party feigned outrage when the inappropriate
actions of the IRS initially were exposed, but now cannot lend support to a
full and unfettered investigation of activities that threaten the very liberty
of the American people.
A
bipartisan group should investigate both Benghazi and the IRS scandal in a
transparent manner. If wrongdoing is discovered, those responsible must face
consequences; and procedures must be established to ensure that such abuses
never occur again.
Most
importantly, the people must awaken and look objectively at the actions of both
Democrats and Republicans and not simply accept what party leaders say. Freedom
is not free, and vigilance in responsible voting is necessary to preserve it.

Man Behind Obama Assassination Plot Sentenced To Death.
“I don’t have a lot
to say here...”
The South
Dakota trial of a 44-year-old man who claimed to have killed a woman as part of
a larger plot to assassinate Barack Obama ended this week with the imposition
of his sentence.
After pleading
guilty to the charge he fatally stabbed a 75-year-old woman in 2011, James
McVay presented the argument that he is mentally ill. Nevertheless, a jury
unanimously voted this week to sentence him to death for the crime.
Circuit Judge
Peter Lieberman upheld the decision during formal sentencing.
“I don’t have a
lot to say here,” the judge said following the trial. “This is a situation where
a jury’s verdict has a lot more weight than what I could say.”
During the
trial, McVay’s account of the crime included his assertion that he murdered
Maybelle Schein to steal her car and drive to Washington, D.C. to kill Obama.
Authorities reportedly caught up with him in Madison, Wis. and took him into
custody.
McVay’s lawyer,
Traci Smith, urged Lieberman to withdraw the sentence in a last-minute appeal.
The public defender argued that comments made during the prosecution’s closing
arguments “inflamed the passions” of jury members. Lieberman, however, decided
against the motion, asserting the decision was made after careful consideration
of the facts presented during trial.
Nevertheless,
the sentence is now set to go before the state Supreme Court for consideration.
According to ABC News, the purpose of the review will be to determine three key
aspects of McVay’s sentence.
“They include whether the sentence was affected by
passion, prejudice, or any other arbitrary factor; whether the evidence
supports the finding of a judge or jury of a statutory aggravating
circumstance, and whether the sentence of death is out of line with the penalty
imposed in other, similar cases.”

filosofía.
Pero después de la
revolución de los sesenta se estableció la relatividad de la verdad, cada uno
podía tener su propia verdad entonces la verdad era maleable, se podía cambiar
para ajustarse a la persona o a una filosofía para fines políticos o de una
conducta social. La conducta moral entonces se convirtió en algo
relativo, algo opcional, y los que se aferran a la verdad absoluta, son
retrógrados. .
Nuestra cultura
condena cada vez más las verdades tradicionales como intolerantes y odiosas.
Nos
desprecian si nos negamos a llamar a lo malo bueno ya lo malo bueno . Cada
día es más difícil tener los valores tradicionales judeo-cristianos, que han
sido el fundamento de la civilización occidental, que han sido el fundamento
para la constitución de la nación y para la conducta del núcleo familiar.
La nueva cultura
americana ya no favorece a cualquiera ya sea religioso o laico que tengan
valores ajenos a los de ellos.

con consecuencias si nos negamos a llamar a lo bueno, lo malo, y lo que es

, o si no decir nada en absoluto
La intimidación a
permanecer en un silencio es insidiosa y en crecimiento, - Pero todos los que

Nuestros
principios no son verdades opcionales, son verdades absolutas. No pensamos así

What separates a great nation from a banana republic?
The answer is simple; it’s the rule of law. It is the notion that
the leader of a country is not above the law but subject to it like everyone
else. If you travel to many seedy parts of the world, this concept is not
the case. The law of the land in these jurisdictions is whatever the dear
leader says it is. No one in government is ever held accountable, unless you
upset the dear leader. This situation leads to corruption throughout all
levels of society, from the policeman to the ministers and members of the
legislature. It reduces economic activity, entrepreneurship, and
innovation. This is why societies like China, Russia, and other
dictatorial regimes do not have tsunamis of creatively destructive ideas as in
the West. They simply copy the innovations of other nations.
America is losing the rule of law and will suffer the political and
economic consequences. In fact, one could make the case that we are
already feeling these consequences.
It doesn’t take much digging to find examples of our
government flouting the rule of law. We have an administration that will
not enforce immigration law for political reasons. We have the attorney
general of these United States telling state attorneys’ general that they can
ignore laws that have been passed by their legislatures. We have a
president who selectively enforces and changes law on a whim. We have an
attorney general who will not investigate voter intimidation, federal agencies
that intimidate individual citizens and opposition groups, or anything that
would bring discredit upon people and ideas he agrees with. My friends,
in America, we have corruption, pure and simple.
What is even more striking is the absence of a serious
media outcry against this tyranny. This is because the mainstream media
is knee deep in corruption as well. In the past, the media acted as a
counterforce against a corrupt government. Reporters sniffed out evidence
of wrongdoing and exposed it as they believed that was good for the country.
This no longer is the case.
What is worse than a compliant media is the refusal of
the opposition party to take legal and constitutional action against this
corruption. Refusal to act is the same as acquiescence. The
Republican Party, and Congress in general, has not stood up to this president.
He breaks the law at will and is not held accountable.
People wonder why our economy is suffering and
unemployment is high. People who voted for Obama wonder why they can’t
find a job. It is because in the absence of the rule of law, business
hesitates. They don’t hire or build new plants. They play it safe.
Taking risks in this environment can lead to disaster for a business as
the dear leader can make or break you at will. He is above the law.
It’s the same way in Russia. Their economy suffers greatly from
corruption. Business cannot effectively operate unless you are a friend
of the establishment. America is headed in this direction.

Como el político tardaba en llegar, el sacerdote decidió decir unas
palabras él mismo para llenar el tiempo:

Even worse, welfare pays more than $15 per hour in 13 states. According to the study, welfare benefits have increased faster than minimum wage. It’s now more profitable to sit at home than it is to earn an honest day’s pay.
Hawaii is the biggest offender, where welfare recipients earn $29.13 per hour, or a $60,590 yearly salary, all for doing nothing.

America’s Environmental Shakedown
Taxpayers paid nearly $53 million in
so-called environmental groups’ legal fees.
From
2009-2012, Department of Justice data shows American taxpayers paid nearly $53
million in so-called environmental groups’ legal fees.
The
U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has asked for a six-month delay in making a
final determination on whether to list the Gunnison sage grouse as an
endangered species—moving the decision past the November elections. An E &
E report states: Colorado elected leaders “fear the
listing could have significant economic impacts.”
The
report continues: “WildEarth Guardians is not opposing the latest extension
after Fish and Wildlife agreed to some extensive new mitigation measures that
will be made in the interim, including increasing buffer zones around sage
grouse breeding grounds, called leks, and deferring coal, oil and gas leasing.”
It goes on to say: “But the Center for Biological Diversity, which is a party
to the settlement agreements with WildEarth Guardians, said the latest
extension is a bad move for the grouse, which it says has needed ESA
protections for years.”
Two
important items should be noticed in the Gunnison sage grouse story. One, the
power the environmental groups wield. Two, part of appeasing the environmental
groups involves “deferring coal, oil, and gas leasing.”
It
is widely known that these groups despise fossil fuels. The Center for
Biological Diversity (CBD) brags about its use of lawsuits to block
development—but it is not just oil and gas they block; it is virtually all
human activity.
In
researching for this week’s column, I have talked to people from a variety of
industry and conservation efforts. Whether I was talking to someone interested
in protecting big horn sheep, a fishing enthusiast, a rancher, or an attorney
representing ranching or extractive industries, CBD seems to be a thorn in
everyone’s side. All made comments similar to what Amos Eno, who has been involved in conservation
for more than forty years, told me: “CBD doesn’t care about the critters. They
are creating a listing pipeline and then making money off of it.” Environmental
writer Ted Williams called CBD “perennial plaintiffs.”
In
an April 8, 2014 hearing before the House Committee on Natural Resources, Karen
Budd-Falen, a fifth-generation rancher and an attorney specializing in
environmental litigation, talked about the need for ESA reform:
“Public information regarding payment of attorney’s fees for ESA litigation is
equally difficult to access.” Addressing HR 4316—which requires a report on
attorney’s fees and costs for ESA related litigation—she says: “It should not
be a radical notion for the public to know how much is being paid by the
federal government and to whom the check is written.”
As
she reports in her testimony, Budd-Falen’s staff did an analysis of the
276-page spreadsheet run released by the Department of Justice (DOJ) listing
litigation summaries in cases defended by the Environment and Natural Resources
Division, Wildlife Section. Although the DOJ release itself contained no
analysis, her legal staff did the calculations and found nearly $53 million of
taxpayer money was paid out over an approximate three-year period. However, she
then shows how her own Freedom of Information Act requests have proven “that
the DOJ does not keep an accurate account of the cases it defends”—making the
actual dollar figure much higher.
Despite
numerous attempts, the ESA has not had any major revisions in more than 25
years. The Wall Street Journal states: “The ESA’s mixed record on wildlife
restoration and its impact on business have made the law vulnerable to
critics.” Groups like CBD have twisted the intent of the law. Reform is now essential—not just to save
taxpayer dollars, but to put the focus back on actually saving the
species.”

enemies goes far beyond what Nixon did
According to a report analyzing the release of 1500 pages of IRS emails and documents obtained
by the government watchdog group Judicial Watch, specifically
regarding congressional involvement:
Letters from U.S. Sen. Carl Levin, a Michigan Democrat, show his
involvement in pressing the IRS to target mostly conservative organizations
with cumbersome questionnaires seemingly calculated to slow down their
applications for tax-exempt status in the middle of an election year.
These “letters”—amounting to strong-arm tactics to take out the Tea
Party—carried the names of a dozen senators and involved multiple congressional
hearings chaired by Levin that supposedly involved Homeland Security—“Homeland
Security” apparently being a euphemism for taking out one’s political enemies.
An analysis of the Judicial Watch documents show a collusion—a conspiracy—between
the IRS and congressional members to decimate the Tea Party, so that what
happened in the 2010 mid-terms didn’t happen in the 2012 presidential election: That is, making sure Barack Hussein Obama won the
election no matter what—even if he had to STEAL the election!
Richard Nixon’s articles of impeachment included this misuse of the IRS.
But Barack Obama’s use of the IRS to destroy his political enemies goes
far beyond what Nixon did. It is not enough to demand that Barack Obama resign. He must be impeached immediately—now—today.

Who Is Jeb Bush’s Presidential Idol? The Answer Might
Make You Sick
“He went and he cajoled, he begged, he
threatened..."
As
Jeb Bush continues positioning himself as the Republican establishment’s pick
to run in the 2016 presidential election, he is increasingly alienating his
party’s conservative base. In his latest outrageous proclamation, the former Florida governor explained
that, if elected, he would rule in a style similar to Lyndon B. Johnson.
“He
went and he cajoled, he begged, he threatened, he loved, he hugged, he did what
leaders do, which is they personally get engaged to make something happen,”
Bush said of Johnson’s approach to the legislature.
What
he failed to mention, however, is what actually resulted from all of LBJ’s
activism.
The
Democrat, who presided over one of the nation’s most pronounced leftward
lurches, established huge boondoggle programs, such as those included in his
‘Great Society’ and War on Poverty initiatives.
Johnson
was also a master manipulator, often credited with establishing public policy
meant to ensnare blacks in a cycle of dependence, ensuring they would be
perpetually beholden to his party.
Aboard
Air Force One, he reportedly told two governors that he would “have those
n—gers voting Democratic for the next 200 years.”
In
another diatribe, he expressed disdain for “uppity” blacks.
“These Negroes, they’re getting pretty
uppity these days and that’s a problem for us since they’ve got something now
they never had before – the political pull to back up their uppityness. Now
we’ve got to do something about this, we’ve got to give them a little
something, just enough to quiet them down, not enough to make a difference.”
In
what some might consider a similar position of racial pandering, Bush has
frequently spoken out in favor of amnesty for illegal aliens.
In
addition to asserting that their constant violation of our
laws amounts to an “act of love,” this week he said conservative opposition to amnesty “makes
no sense to me.”

Existe una relativa timidez a la hora de calificar como dictaduras a
regímenes que mantienen una apariencia electoralista y permiten un cierto
grado de oposición.
Por muchos años, esta timidez exigía objetividad a la hora de señalar los excesos dictatoriales del Presidente Hugo Chávez y aspiraba a la solución de las urnas como solución civilizada para un mal gobierno. Esa timidez y pasividad permitió la consolidación de un régimen autoritario hasta el punto de llegar a la dictadura caprichosa y desorbitada de Nicolás Maduro. Los excesos y abusos de Evo Morales en Bolivia y de Daniel Ortega en Nicaragua y la caprichosa incapacidad de gobierno que han demostrado estos caudillos al tiempo que consolidan por la fuerza su poder, han convencido a muchos de que la opción electoralista no funciona en esos países donde el poder está centrado en un dictador que no está dispuesto a ceder el poder ni a compartirlo. A pesar de esta realidad reiterada por la que las débiles democracias latinoamericanas sucumben ante un líder carismático que acaba por aplastar a los mismos que lo entronizaron, contemplamos la misma timidez pusilánime a la hora de calificar el régimen de Rafael Correa en Ecuador como lo que es: una feroz dictadura. Los que exigen objetividad y moderación en nuestro juicio al mandatario ecuatoriano se sienten fascinados por su capacidad académica, que descuella frente a la mediocridad e incapacidad de los Maduros, Morales y Ortegas del continente. Hablan también de soberanía electoral frente al hecho de que Correa todavía arrastra a un sector importante de la población a las urnas y a que hay un parlamento que a duras penas y sofocado por el poder ejecutivo todavía funciona con limitada autonomía. A la hora de juzgar a estos regímenes que aspiran al totalitarismo del modelo cubano, el indicio más ilustrativo del propósito dictatorial es la forma en que esos regímenes -y en este caso el de Rafael Correa- arremeten contra la libertad de prensa y, en general, contra la libertad de expresión de sus ciudadanos. Recientemente Rafael Correa visitó España y fue entrevistado por El País. Como es un hombre inteligente y preparado sorteó con maestría las preguntas más puntuales sobre estos temas, pero no logró convencer a ese diario, pese a la conocida tendencia socialista de su material informativo y sus editoriales. Sencillamente porque en España hay plena libertad de expresión y de prensa y la crítica o el análisis no son condenados como delitos de difamación. Y El País ejerció decorosamente esa libertad. En esa entrevista defendió su "Ley Orgánica de Comunicación", la cual cuenta con unos considerandos muy atractivos que adornan su preámbulo e impresionan al lector hasta que el buen observador y el estudioso se sumergen en el análisis de su parte dispositiva. El hecho es que Rafael Correa propone y dispone los límites en la aplicación de las libertades de expresión y de prensa desde su trono presidencial. Su programa semanal de radio/TV es retransmitido "voluntariamente" a todo el país cada sábado en una enorme cadena en la que las emisoras "voluntarias" tienen sobre sí la espada de Damocles de la descalificación y el retiro de sus licencias o la confiscación dictada con el pretexto de combatir los oligopolios. El mismo Rafael Correa proclamó en una de las últimas retrasmisiones que esta Ley de comunicaciones sería lapìdaria para los disidentes:"¡Gracias a nuestra Ley de Comunicación se les acabó la fiesta! Esto es lo que acostumbraban estos cobardes: juzgar en los titulares y no en los tribunales", dijo con su habitual arrogancia triunfalista. Y añadió con absoluta convicción: "No se puede opinar sobre un caso que está en proceso". Y es Rafael Correa, con la anuencia de su camarilla, quien decide cuándo se puede y no se puede opinar, aprovechando las disposiciones de la nueva Ley y barajando sus ambigüedades cuando la autoridad del dictador pueda ponerse en duda por alguna de ellas. El lenguaje de Correa se remonta a las "coletillas" que impuso a la prensa cubana Fidel Castro en sus primeros zafarranchos de combate contra los derechos y libertades de su pueblo. Por eso no tiene freno en su verborrea para tachar a los periodistas que se atreven a opinar libremente somo seres "malévolos","sicarios de tinta", "corruptos" y "cobardes", entre muchos otros epítetos que desembocan en su juicio dictatorial de que son testaferros del imperialismo atrinchearados en esos antros"turbios y peligrosos" llamados "medios de comunicación privados". Todos sabemos que el control absoluto de la información es la herramienta más eficaz de las dictaduras y la más estricta en los regímenes totalitarios. ¿Cómo puede entonces nadie creer que subsiste todavía una estructura democrática en Ecuador, y muchísimo menos en Venezuela, Bolivia o Nicaragua? El éxito de estos regímenes de sembrar la confusión entre los mejor intencionados y de promover un pacifismo que les permite consolidar el dominio feroz que ejercen sobre sus pueblos, anima a otros regímenes autoritarios a ensayar estrategias encaminadas a amordazar la prensa y a limitar su capacidad crítica, como venimos presenciando en un gradual crescendo frente a los hechos que suceden en la Argentina actual. Frente a los dictadores y a los pichones de dictador no hay otra opción que la resistencia firme y militante a sus abusos y una estrategia encaminada a su derrocamiento por los medios que sean necesarios. El apaciguamiento y la pasividad han permitido que estos regímenes lleguen cada vez más cerca del poder absoluto como el que durante más de medio siglo ha ostentado el régimen cubano. La agresión feroz contra la libertad de prensa es ese primer paso decisivo. Desde que Correa alcanzó el poder, se han producido en Ecuador más de 800 agresiones (las que se saben) contra periodistas, incluyendo asesinatos que han quedado impunes, juicios penales, golpizas, multas millonarias, difamaciones públlicas utilizando el control de los medios por el aparato del Estado, cierre de medios de comunicación e intentos de controlar y penalizar las opiniones vertidas en la Internet. Correa ha criminalizado la libertad de expresión sin que los organismos internacionales de derechos humanos lo condenen por semejante desafuero y ha impuesto un control absoluto mediante esta nueva Ley Orgánica de Comunicación, por la cual ningún caso de corrupción del gobierno o de crítica a su gestión puede ser reportada sin previa autorización ¡del mismo gobierno! Y los medios de prensa se ven obligados a pedir disculpas en términos perentorios cada vez que Correa se enoja por sus opiniones. El control logrado sobre la libertad de expresión gracias a esta Ley demuestra también el control dictatorial del Poder Ejecutivo sobre el Poder Legislativo en Ecuador, por cuanto la Ley incluye más de 50 artículos que no fueron debatidos en el Congreso. La libertad de expresión queda así limitada en Ecuador a un grupo político dominado por un dictador que decide a su conveniencia -y sin siquiera aparentar esfuerzo alguno de debido proceso- cuál es la verdad, cuándo y hasta qué punto una información es responsable y cuáles son los parámetros que determinan si un material informativo es de interés público o no. Las soluciones pacíficas son el medio idoneo para instaurar una democracia, pero es un hecho natural que la oveja no puede dialogar con el lobo y salir con vida de esa experiencia. |

him again.
He made a 3-minute presentation in front of the mainstream media’s
agents. I have never seen anything like it. As an example of rhetoric, it is
flawless.
He ended it exactly right.
He took no prisoners.
All in all, this was a bombshell. It was placed directly under the
media, right where it belonged.
