Did the Feds Back Down In
Nevada From Fear of Corruption Being Exposed? by BOB ALLEN
Do you want to know how deep the rabbit hole of official corruption goes
in America today? Or do you enjoy your blissful ignorance?
Why did the Feds back down in Nevada? Perhaps because the real story was attracting attention. It
increased the potential that an authentic journalist might finally do their
job, and connect-the-dots for some very nasty and inconvenient facts.
Bundy Ranch, it appears, was merely an inconvenient pawn in a very
high-stakes game involving Harry Reid, his son, Warren Buffett, and Barack Obama, with the
residents of Nevada as patsies.
Buffett bought Obama for the potential of massive financial gain, and
Mr. Las Vegas Mafia lawyer, Harry Reid, has been a key ally in the Mob and its
nefarious plans to get rich—very rich—at the people of Nevada's expense (and I
don't doubt such is true in other locales, as well).
Nevada’s
Public Utility Commission protested the plan on the grounds that it would
impose unnecessary costs on electric ratepayers while also removing the plan’s
entire implementation from the PUC’s regulatory oversight. Along with the state
consumer advocate, the PUC testified vociferously against Senate Bill 123
during legislative hearings. One PUC spokesman went so far as to say “NV
Energy’s rate-impact estimates aren’t worth the paper they’re printed on.”
At the
same time, however, investors on Wall Street were keeping a close eye on the
hearings and salivating over the profit potential that NV Energy could gain
with the bill’s passage. They upgraded NV Energy’s stock with the expectation
that Senate Bill 123 could become law.
Then,
days before the Assembly commerce committee voted on the measure, Buffett
announced his plans to acquire all of NV Energy’s shares. Reportedly,
Buffett first engaged in talks with NV Energy’s directors around the time that
the utility inserted its fuel-switch plan as a sweeping amendment to Senate
Bill 123.
Buffett
then began personally placing calls to
key policymakers — including Gov. Brian Sandoval, Atkinson, and Senate Majority
Leader Mo Denis — lobbying for the bill’s passage. At the same time, NV Energy
lobbyists, led by Pete Ernault — longtime advisor to Sandoval — amped up the pressure on
lawmakers to support the bill.
Within
a week, the Legislature concluded with the Assembly passing the expensive new
mandate Buffett sought. Eight days later, Sandoval would sign the measure into
law, guaranteeing the “Wizard of Omaha” huge new profits — at the direct
expense of Nevada ratepayers.
The old movie line seems appropriate: Follow the money.

14 GOVERNORS-PREPARE STATE MILITIA
DEFENSES TO BE READY AGAINST OBAMA’S ROGUE FEDERAL FORCES. / Clark Kent /
Obama fearing a revolution against him by the
states, has moved swiftly by nationalizing nearly all National Guard Forces in
multiple states; Georgia, Alabama, Kansas, Minnesota, Tennessee, Virginia,
Louisiana, South Carolina – to name a few. The Governors of the Great States of Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, South
Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia still have under their
Command-and-Control the State
Defense Forces to go against U.S. Federal forces should
the need arise. Also important to note: There are NO U.S. laws prohibiting
National Guard troops from also joining their State’s Defense Forces. This
dilemma occurred during the Civil War with many “citizen soldiers” choosing to
serve their states instead of the Federal Government.
Obama is angered by the several State Governors
who have reestablished “State Defense Forces.” These forces are described as:
“State Defense Forces (also known as State Guards, State Military Reserves,
State Militias) in the United States are military units that operate under the sole authority of a
state government; they are not regulated by the National Guard Bureau nor are
they part of the ArmyNational Guard of the United States. State Defense Forces are authorized by state and federal law and are
under the command of the governor of each state. State Defense Forces are
distinct from their state’s National Guard in that they cannot become federal
entities.” MORE HERE

The current political situation differs greatly from the situation in 2002.
Twelve years ago, PDVSA leaders joined a general nationwide strike by locking
out workers for more than 50 days. During that time, oil production fell from 3
million barrels per day to 150,000 per day. U.S. monthly imports of Venezuelan
crude fell from nearly 50 million barrels in November 2002 to 13 million in
January 2003, and Venezuela was forced to import millions of barrels of refined
products to offset the damage of oil shortages. The strike devastated the
country's oil industry and national economy, but ultimately it raised the
global price of oil only slightly -- producers and refiners were able to
compensate for the deficit. U.S. refineries, for example, were able to draw
from oil stockpiles, and several months after exports resumed, the markets
stabilized.
After the strike, the government of former President Hugo Chavez fired nearly 18,000 workers, or about 40 percent of PDVSA's workforce, many of whom were trained engineers, accountants and managers, for their actual or alleged involvement in planning the strike. PDVSA has never fully recovered from losing so many experienced personnel. But it has since been made responsible for financing several social causes, which have drained its resources and reduced investment in exploration, production and maintenance. Combined with subsequent energy nationalizations, these factors have prevented PDVSA from producing at pre-2002 levels.

Another Tale from The Cowardocracy Chronicles: Science Teacher Banned from Classroom. by MARK HORNE
Everyone
gets afraid. Everyone has fears. Whether or not one becomes a coward depends on
how one learns to deal with fear.
I
don’t know how Americans are doing as a whole; but “their” institutions enshrine
cowardice as a social and political norm. (I use sarcastic quotation marks because I don’t
think these institutions are really “ours.” They are over us; that is all.)
In the
L.A. Times we read about Greg Schiller who once taught classes at
Cortines School of Visual & Performing Arts:
Schiller
was ordered to report daily to a district administrative office pending an
investigation after two students turned in science projects that were designed
to shoot small projectiles.
One
project used compressed air to propel a small object, but it was not connected
to a source of air pressure, so it could not have been fired. (In 2012, President Obama tried out a more powerful air-pressure device
at a White House Science Fair that could launch a marshmallow 175
feet.)
Another
project used the power from an AA battery to charge a tube surrounded by a
coil. When the ninth-grader proposed it, Schiller told him to be more
scientific, to construct and test different coils and to draw graphs and
conduct additional analysis, said the student's parents, who also are Los
Angeles teachers.
A school employee saw the air-pressure project and raised concerns about
what looked to her like a weapon, according to the teachers union and
supporters. Schiller, who said he never saw either completed project except in
photos, was summoned and sent home.
Both projects were confiscated as “evidence,” said Susan Ferguson, whose
son did the coil-gun project.
L.A.
Unified School District administrators have told Schiller that he was removed from his classroom six weeks ago for “supervising the
building, research and development of imitation weapons,” said union
representative Roger Scott.
School
administrators did not respond to inquiries. District officials said they could
not comment on an ongoing probe.
“As far
as we can tell, he’s being punished for teaching science,”
said Warren Fletcher, president of United Teachers Los Angeles.
Schiller
teaches Advanced Placement biology and psychology, as well as regular and
honors biology.
Students
in Schiller's classes are concerned about Advanced Placement exams
for college credit in May.
“The class is now essentially a free period,”
said 17-year-old psychology student Liana Kleinman. “The sub does not have a
psych background and can’t help us with the work.”
Schiller
initially prepared lesson plans for the substitute, but the district in an email directed him to stop.
For
those looking for life lessons here, I see a few.
First
off, if you commonly think of bravery as having to do with physical activity
and physical competition, your view is too narrow. Cowardice is intellectually
crippling. It stunts thinking and learning.
Secondly,
if you think teachers unions are wrong a hundred percent of the time, you are
wrong. Even a stopped clock is right twice a day, and I am glad the union is
supporting Schiller. (And, even if we got rid of unions as they are now,
there are still other possible types of unions. Homeschoolers often join legal
defense funds and teacher could do the same.)
Third,
notice that the philosophy and commitment of the entire school district is to
inculcate cowardice into students rather than allow them to learn anything.
They could have simply refused to accept the science projects and reprimanded
the teacher. That would still have been cowardly, stupid, and evil, but it
would have not raised doubts about the school district’s commitment to
education.
Instead,
they have dramatically affected the education and prospects of some of their
students. A major class has now become “essentially a free period.” The school
would rather have ignorant, failing, cowards than educated non-cowards. They
are committed to producing reduced human beings rather than teaching them.
What
will happen if the teachers and students who are, thankfully, rallying to
Schiller’s cause get their way? This is what really drives me crazy. Whoever is
in charge of that school district is now publicly revealed to be an enemy of
education and character. How can we tolerate such people having authority over
our students?
Barring
my personal utopia of the abolition of all public school, the decision-makers
in that school district all need to be fired and replaced.
On
a personal level, we have to realize that the basic choice to not be a coward
has not only personal but societal consequences. Think about yourself and
whether you are part of the problem or the solution.
