(CNN) – La primera ministra danesa Helle Thorning-Schmidt apareció en todas las portadas después de hacerse un autorretrato con el móvil (selfie), sentada entre el primer ministro del Reino Unido, David Cameron, y del presidente de Estados Unidos, Barack Obama, en la ceremonia conmemorativa de Mandela el martes.
La foto "selfie" adquirió proporciones virales en línea casi inmediatamente. Pero se te puede perdonar si no sabes quién es esa belleza rubia que se toma una fotografía con su teléfono con dos poderosos políticos, a menos que seas danés, como en mi caso, o que estés al tanto de los asuntos de actualidad.
Muchos periódicos están cuestionándose si era apropiado que "Gucci Helle", como la llaman muchos daneses por su sentido del estilo, se tomara una "selfie" durante la ceremonia conmemorativa del martes. El Times escribió que Obama puso a prueba los límites de la "etiqueta en un funeral" (a pesar de que la ceremonia no fuera un funeral) con el autorretrato.
Aunque podrían haber actuado con menos gracia en el momento que se tomó la fotografía, parecía que estaban disfrutando de la compañía mutua y Thorning-Schmidt no se pudo resistir a la tentación de documentar ella misma el momento. A aquellos que les escandalizó ver a los políticos divertirse en una situación como lo era la ceremonia deberían de recordar que los líderes no eran los únicos que se tomaban "selfies" en la ceremonia. Algunos incluso dicen que eso muestra el lado humano de nuestros líderes quienes, después de todo, no son robots.
Esta no fue la primera ocasión en que la líder danesa se reuniera con el presidente estadounidense: Obama dio la bienvenida a Thorning-Schmidt en febrero de 2012 y de nuevo se encontraron en Estocolmo cuando Obama realizó un viaje allí. But since President Obama came to office in 2009, Cuban leader Raul Castro has signaled that he is interested in a new relationship, according to current and former U.S. officials.

Last week, Obama praised the Cuban-brokered talks during a state visit with Colombia’s president, Juan Manuel Santos.
Meanwhile, behind the scenes, U.S. and Cuban officials have held midlevel discussions in Havana and Washington on a range of issues, including direct postal service, migration issues, disaster response, and search and rescue at sea.
“The Cubans regularly say to people that they are ready for a different relationship,” said Dan Restrepo, who served as head of Latin America policy at the National Security Council during Obama’s first term.
Restrepo said the intermediaries who have delivered Castro’s messages are often U.S. citizens with connections to the Cuban government. But from time to time, other sources said, Latin American diplomats and leaders also have passed on the general message from Castro that he is ready for a bargain.
“There has been a string of emissaries, both private citizens and Latin American leaders, who have begun to nudge Obama forward on engaging in talks with Cuba and also carrying a message from Castro that he’s willing to talk,” said Steve Clemons, a senior fellow at the New America Foundation who has exceptionally close ties to the Obama White House and accompanied Vice President Biden on his recent tour of East Asia.
But despite these private signals and messages, the relationship may not be ready for a thaw. Indeed, on Tuesday, as Obama and Castro shook hands in South Africa,authorities detained about 20 dissidents in Havana who gathered to demonstrate on International Human Rights Day.
While human rights have played no role in the U.S. outreach to Iran in recent weeks, they remain at the center of U.S. policy goals for Cuba. The 1996 legislation that codified the U.S. embargo of the island, known as Helms-Burton, explicitly says the embargo shall not be lifted until Cuba releases political prisoners and holds free and fair elections.

Amenper: La importancia de ser negro
Los negros en América están cometiendo un gran error, y esto perjudica a toda la nación.
Viví el racismo en el sur en los años cincuenta, la segregación era algo denigrante para los negros y para los blancos que la apoyaban, el racismo era una vergüenza ante el mundo para los Estados Unidos.
Pasamos por una etapa en que progresivamente se estaba acabando el racismo en los Estados Unidos.
Pero entonces llegó Obama.
La elección de Obama ha sido lo peor que pueda haber ocurrido para la situación racial en los Estados Unidos.
Estamos de lleno en una guerra racial peor que en el tiempo de la segregación, el odio entre ambas razas se nota en el ambiente.
Los negros votaron masivamente por Obama porque era negro, no se les puede culpar porque la emoción de tener un negro de presidente era difícil de evitar, votaron sin saber por quién votaban, lo único que les interesaba es que era negro.
Pero después, en vez de reconocer su error, se han aferrado a Obama de una manera ridícula. Cualquiera que critique a Obama es un racista, no admiten la crítica al primer presidente negro.
En 1947 Branch Rickey decidió que el beisbol estaba listo para un jugador negro.
Pero Rickey no escogió a cualquier jugador, quizás ni siquiera escogió al mejor jugador.

Su pasado político era de una filosofía extremista con visos socialistas.
Sus calificaciones no eran adecuadas para la oficina de la presidencia de la nación líder del mundo libre aunque hubiera sido blanco.
Hay muchas indicaciones que sugieran que la Presidencia de Obama será vista como un fracaso similar a la de Jimmy Carter.
Eso es mala noticia para el país pero especialmente malas noticias para los estadounidenses negros.
Ningún candidato presidencial blanco tuvo que sufrir las consecuencias de la desgracia de la Presidencia de Carter porque era blanco, porque los blancos eran la mayoría establecida.
Pero creo que un candidato presidencial negro en el futuro se encontrará llevando el equipaje pesado de un presidente negro fallido ya sea el candidato negro Demócrata o Republicano.
Esto no es un problema para los liberales blancos que votaron por Obama, ellos recibieron satisfacción para aliviar la culpabilidad de votar por un hombre negro para Presidente, pero ellos son blancos, pero sin lugar a dudas esto es un problema para las futuras generaciones de los negros americanos.
En resumen los negros se están perjudicando ellos mismos con su fanatismo con Obama, como Chacumbele ellos mismos se están matando.
Pero hay una excusa que pueden tener los negros en el futuro, pueden decir que Obama no es una persona negra auténtica pero, como The New York Times dijo una vez, es una persona negra blanca, o como dijo Biden un negro que habla como un blanco.
Pero es difícil, no estamos en el caso de Jackie Robinson que abrió las puertas para que otros negros pudieran jugar en el beisbol de grandes ligas.
Obama le ha cerrado las puertas a los negros para que puedan ocupar la presidencia por un largo tiempo.

Amenper: El Fin Justifica los Medios
"El fin justifica los medios". Esta frase de Maquiavelo, es un axioma marxista que siempre le ha dado resultados a los socialistas cuando quieren implantar su sistema en un país democrático.
En Cuba recuerdan cuando Fidel tomó el poder, que creó un gabinete de gobierno con figuras democráticas, para que hicieran un gobierno tradicional de transición por seis meses hasta que se celebraran elecciones libres.
Todavía estamos esperando las elecciones libres y los miembros de ese gabinete o se han muerto o están muriendo en el exilio.
Hay ciertas palabras que no se pueden mencionar en una democracia, y cuando los socialistas están en el proceso lento de implementación del socialismo, las evitan.
Las principales son "el gobierno de un sólo partido" la otra "el vendedor y pagador único" y para la economía de mercado "la regulación de precios" y "Re-distribución de las riquezas".
Hasta ahora Obama se había mantenido en la línea pre-implementación, y había evitado usar esas palabras, algunas veces que no podía usar el teleprompter se le iba alguna que otra, pero en general se excusaba y cambiaba lo que dijo. Por eso decía que en el Obamacare "si usted quiere quedarse con su seguro, puede quedarse con su seguro, si usted quiere quedarse con su médico puede quedarse con su médico. Punto. No es algo específico aunque son muchas las cosas que me preocupan de por si cada una, pero es la película que estoy viendo, que me da la impresión de que ya la he visto antes.
Los que vivimos en Cuba recordamos que Fidel nos decía lo que queríamos oír, hay que recordar la frase de Fidel "Nos casaron con la mentira y nos hicieron vivir con la mentira", me gusta esa frase porque suena bien y es apropiada en muchos casos sobre todo en los tiempos que vivimos.
Lo asombroso es que la haya dicho el mentiroso más grande del mundo.
Miente, miente, miente todo le puedas que siempre algo queda y es una buena justificación para los que por motivos personales todavía quieren esconder la realidad.
El fin justifica los medios.
Amenper: Impuestos Duplicados
Cada día nos alejamos más de los principios que crearon esta nación.
La rebelión del Tea Party en Boston en 1773 fue por la duplicación de impuestos por la corona en la exportación del Té.
Pero no sólo hay una presión para poner el doble impuesto a las inversiones del capital, pero ahora hay una creciente atención a imponer mayores impuestos a la “riqueza”.
O sea que habrá personas que tengan que pagar los impuestos por lo que ganaron y después tener que pagar impuesto en lo que ahorraron por el impuesto a la “riqueza” .
Hay que hacer una clara distinción el impuesto a las ganancias y este impuesto a la “riqueza”. Los primeros son los impuestos al "conseguir" la riqueza, no deben de ser mayor que lo necesario, pero es algo que se necesita para el crecimiento y para pagar las deudas de la nación, es como la contribución del individuo a la comunidad dándole sus fondos al gobierno para que los use en la administración de la nación.
Aunque este administrador no debe de derrochar esos pagos y después pedir más y tiene que ser responsable sobre su administración a los que contribuyen con los fondos...
Pero los impuestos riqueza se enfocan en el "tener" de la riqueza. Esta distinción ilumina objetivos contrarios, necesitamos incrementar incentivos de crecimiento mediante la reducción de los impuestos sobre la actividad productiva pero no podemos al mismo tiempo que paliar la transferencia masiva e injustificada de la riqueza adquirida por muchos a través de muchos años de trabajo y ahorro.
Esto es castigar a los que han sabido crear la riqueza para la nación y para ellos mismos.
Esto es la injusta re-distribución de la riqueza, esto es el socialismo.
Es especialmente remarcable la defensa por el Fondo Monetario Internacional de este impuesto excepcional a la riqueza privada. Pero no es de extrañar en estos tiempos.
El ensayo no aborda el entorno jurídico, pero vale la pena recordar que en los Estados Unidos, la Constitución original (artículo I, sección 9, cláusula 4) prohíbe al gobierno federal de imponer impuestos directos sobre la propiedad o bienes como tal.
La enmienda XVI instituyó un nuevo poder al Congreso gravar "las rentas, de cualquier fuente derivado," pero la enmienda XVI no capacita al Congreso para imponer un impuesto a la riqueza, por lo menos hasta ahora. Las llamadas “riquezas” ya fueron gravadas por el impuesto sobre las rentas.
Claro que esto no importa a los socialistas, la constitución no importa, de todos modos si logran ganar las elecciones primarias en el 2014 y las generales en 2016, siempre se puede ajustar la constitución al socialismo porque ya vamos a tener mayoría liberal en la Corte Supremas, así que tendremos una mayoría liberal en el poder ejecutivo, legislativo y judicial, el sueño de Marx, el gobierno por un solo partido.
Amenper: Desigualdad de las Riquezas
Me molesta, siempre me ha molestado, lo que había en Cuba contra los “ricos”, que realmente no eran ricos pero profesionales, asalariados superiores y comerciantes.
Lo que más me molesta es que esto mismo lo estamos viendo ahora en este país, el país más rico del mundo, el país de las oportunidades para todos.
Un “rico” es un, estúpido, no entiendo el razonamiento, si es “rico” entonces no es tan estúpido y eso es quizás lo que les molesta a los que los atacan.
Pero por otro lado también lo atacan por abusador, ¿cómo es que puede un estúpido abusar de unos vivos como ellos?.
Entonces los políticos crearon el socialismo, encontraron la solución, la distribución de la riqueza, el tomar del trabajo de otros para ellos, no para hacer ricos a los pobres, pero para mantener a todos cautivos del estado para crear la esclavitud y la igualdad de la pobreza.
Si usted cree como Barack Obama, que la desigualdad de la riqueza es el "reto definitorio de nuestra época". No se dan cuenta del verdadero reto, que es la lenta decadencia por el socialismo de los países de Europa, la guerra contra nuestra herencia cristiana y el ataque del gobierno a las libertades básicas.
Lo que no es un reto es la "desigualdad de la riqueza" y no es un reto por una sencilla razón: la desigualdad de ingresos no es un problema, el problema son las políticas socialistas que la crean, el reto es enfrentarse a esas políticas.
Siempre creo que la desigualdad de las riqueza en este momento está en que realmente los que sufren esta desigualdad es la clase medias alta, no los pobres que en los Estados Unidos tienen un estilo de vida que se considerarían como ricos en muchas parte del mundo.
Esto es algo que casi nadie cree, pero he ido a las estadísticas y lo que me enseñan es lo que yo sentía, que las personas de bajo ingreso abusan de los que han producido ingresos para ellos mismos y para la nación
Estos números son en referencia a los beneficios que reciben del gobierno las personas de diferentes estratos económicos, y la desigualdad es asombrosa-
Las familias con bajos ingresos que pagan muy poco o nada en los impuestos federales de todo tipo, reciben considerablemente más en beneficios de gastos federales
Así que aquí hay algo para analizar. Las familias de bajos ingresos reciben un promedio de $8,13 en el gasto federal por cada $1 que pagan en impuestos federales, mientras que el más bajo siguiente obtiene $2,96 y familias de medianos ingresos reciben $1,57. Los que ganan más de $67.000, que incluye ese terrible 1% que oímos mucho en las últimas elecciones, y "son los mayores contribuyentes netos al gobierno". Reciben entre 83 y 25 centavos en beneficios por cada dólar que pagan en impuestos y estos beneficios no son en dinero pero en los servicios públicos básicos que ofrece el gobierno.
Esto demuestra que las personas de bajos ingresos reciben beneficios mayores y pagan poco o nada de impuestos, así que no son tan desamparados, y que los que trabajan para pagar sus impuestos reciben poco o nada de beneficios
Impuestos federales y políticas de gasto redistribuyen algunos $1,5 trillones en ingresos cada año, si sumamos los impuestos estatales y locales llegan a la suma hasta $2 trillones.
Así la próxima vez que escuches a alguien decir que los estadounidenses más ricos también deben de pagar impuesto citando números de porcientos que no aplican a la realidad de dólares, deben de considerar estas cifras porque los que producen estos ingresos son ellos.
Se entiende que los pobres deben de recibir más beneficios porque son los que más lo necesitan, pero no se debe abusar de los beneficios porque esto crea dependencia, lo que hay que buscar es que tengan mejores ingresos con su trabajo, no que vivan de los beneficios del gobierno, que son producto de los que trabajan y pagan sus impuestos.
El 20 por ciento de las familias ganaron el 55 por ciento de los ingresos de la nación. Después de impuestos del gobierno y políticas de gasto, estas familias ganaron solamente el 39,6 por ciento de los ingresos de la nación." Las cifras también muestran que el 40 por ciento de los comerciantes y los asalariados superiores están subsidiando la parte inferior del 60 por ciento.
De nuevo, el problema de esta nación no es el "ricos se están haciendo más ricos" porque son, unos abusadores engañando a los pobres.
Estas estadísticas de la Fundación de Estudios sobre los Impuestos, y demuestra, que a pesar de redistribución, los pobres siguen siendo pobres. Y siguen siendo pobres en no poca medida porque la economía es un desastre porque la recuperación avanza a un paso lento gracias a las políticas izquierdistas del Sr. Obama.
Ya sabemos que confiscar toda la riqueza de comerciantes y asalariados superiores de este país no pagará deuda de esta nación- Y subir los impuestos no resuelve el problema, lo empeora.;
Ciertamente no puedes culpar a la imaginada "desigualdad de la riqueza" ´por el problema insuperable de la pobreza, que es parte de la condición humana.
Por lo tanto, las políticas que nos ha dado el Sr. Obama no ayudan a nadie, porque se sabe que siempre habrá pobres en cualquier sistema, y con una administración socialista hasta los ricos se convertirán en pobres, entonces ¿quién pagará los impuestos? ¿Quiénes serán los que producirán el producto bruto del país?
Un libre mercado funciona mejor, y la redistribución fiscal y políticas reguladoras castigan productividad y subsidian al vago, lo, que a su vez disminuye la moral, los incentivos y la ética de trabajo de aquellos de quienes se toma dinero y aquellos a quienes es dado.
Esas políticas también amargan al pobre y socavan con el odio su carácter.
Estas reacciones humanas naturales a la política del gobierno no debieran de existir, y las verdaderas soluciones debieran ser fáciles de entender.
Pero la reacción de la mayoría es de sorna… “qué lástima me dan los pobres ricos”
No piensan que esas son las personas que mantienen la riqueza de la nación para que los pobres reciban los beneficios.
No estamos hablando de las ricas corporaciones que son subsidiadas (estimuladas) con el capitalismo de estado que estamos viviendo, estamos hablando de los comerciantes y asalariados superiores que son los que están manteniendo la cada vez más frágil estabilidad económica de la nación.

"First secretary of the Communist Party, president of the Council of State and of the government of Cuba, president of the socialist republic of Cuba, commander-in-chief, Comrade Fidel Castro;
Cuban internationalists, who have done so much to free our continent; Cuban people; comrades and friends:
It is a great pleasure and honour to be present here today, especially on so important a day in the revolutionary history of the Cuban people. Today Cuba commemorates the thirty- eighth anniversary of the storming of the Moncada. Without Moncada the Granma expedition, the struggle in the Sierra Maestra, the extraordinary victory of January 1, 1959, would never have occurred.
Today this is revolutionary Cuba, internationalist Cuba, the country that has done so much for the peoples of Africa.
We have long wanted to visit your country and express the many feelings that we have about the Cuban revolution, about the role of Cuba in Africa, southern Africa, and the world.
The Cuban people hold a special place in the hearts of the people of Africa. The Cuban internationalists have made a contribution to African independence, freedom, and justice, unparalleled for its principled and selfless character.From its earliest days the Cuban revolution has itself been a source of inspiration to all freedom-loving people. We admire the sacrifices of the Cuban people in maintaining their independence and sovereignty in the face of a vicious imperialist-orchestrated campaign to destroy the impressive gains made in the Cuban revolution.
We too want to control our own destiny. We are determined that the people of South Africa will make their future and that they will continue to exercise their full democratic rights after liberation from apartheid. We do not want popular participation to cease at the moment when apartheid goes. We want to have the moment of liberation open the way to ever-deepening democracy.
We admire the achievements of the Cuban revolution in the sphere of social welfare. We note the transformation from a country of imposed backwardness to universal literacy. We acknowledge your advances in the fields of health, education, and science.
There are many things we learn from your experience. In particular we are moved by your affirmation of the historical connection to the continent and people of Africa.
Your consistent commitment to the systematic eradication of racism is unparalleled.
But the most important lesson that you have for us is that no matter what the odds, no matter under what difficulties you have had to struggle, there can be no surrender! It is a case of freedom or death!
I know that your country is experiencing many difficulties now, but we have confidence that the resilient people of Cuba will overcome these as they have helped other coun-tries overcome theirs.
We know that the revolutionary spirit of today was started long ago and that its spirit was kindled by many early fighters for Cuban freedom, and indeed for freedom of all suffering under imperialist domination.
We too are also inspired by the life and example of Jose Marti, who is not only a Cuban and Latin American hero but justly honoured by all who struggle to be free.We also honour the great Che Guevara, whose revolution-ary exploits, including on our own continent, were too powerful for any prison censors to hide from us. The life of Che is an inspiration to all human beings who cherish freedom. We will always honour his memory."
We come here with great humility. We come here with great emotion. We come here with a sense of a great debt that is owed to the people of Cuba. What other country can point to a record of greater selflessness than Cuba has displayed in its relations with Africa?
How many countries of the world benefit from Cuban health workers or educationists? How many of these are in Africa?
Where is the country that has sought Cuban help and has had it refused?
How many countries under threat from imperialism or struggling for national liberation have been able to count on Cuban support?
It was in prison when I first heard of the massive assistance that the Cuban internationalist forces provided to the people of Angola, on such a scale that one hesitated to be-lieve, when the Angolans came under combined attack of South African, CIA-financed FNLA, mercenary, UNITA, and Zairean troops in 1975."
We in Africa are used to being victims of countries wanting to carve up our territory or subvert our sovereignty. It is unparalleled in African history to have another people rise to the defence of one of us.
We know also that this was a popular action in Cuba. We are aware that those who fought and died in Angola were only a small proportion of those who volunteered. For the Cuban people internationalism is not merely a word but something that we have seen practiced to the benefit of large sections of humankind.
We know that the Cuban forces were willing to withdraw shortly after repelling the 1975 invasion, but the continued aggression from Pretoria made this impossible.
Your presence and the reinforcement of your forces in the battle of Cuito Cuanavale was of truly historic significance.
The crushing defeat of the racist army at Cuito Cuanavale was a victory for the whole of Africa!
The overwhelming defeat of the racist army at Cuito Cuanavale provided the possibility for Angola to enjoy peace and consolidate its own sovereignty!The defeat of the racist army allowed the struggling people of Namibia to finally win their independence!
The decisive defeat of the apartheid aggressors broke the myth of the invincibility of the white oppressors!
The defeat of the apartheid army was an inspiration to the struggling people inside South Africa!
Without the defeat of Cuito Cuanavale our organizations would not have been unbanned!
The defeat of the racist army at Cuito Cuanavale has made it possible for me to be here today!
Cuito Cuanavale was a milestone in the history of the struggle for southern African liberation!
Cuito Cuanavale has been a turning point in the struggle to free the continent and our country from the scourge of apartheid!
Apartheid is not something that started yesterday. The or-igins of white racist domination go back three and a half centuries to the moment when the first white settlers started a process of disruption and later conquest of the Khoi, San, and other African peoples—the original inhabitants of our country.
The process of conquest from the very beginning engendered a series of wars of resistance, which in turn gave rise to our struggle for national liberation. Against heavy odds, Afri-can peoples tried to hold on to their lands. But the material base and consequent firepower of the colonial aggressors doomed the divided tribal chiefdoms and kingdoms to ultimate defeat.
This tradition of resistance is one that still lives on as an inspiration to our present struggle. We still honour the names of the great prophet and warrior Makana, who died while trying to escape from Robben Island prison in 1819, Hintsa, Sekhukhune, Dingane, Moshoeshoe, Bambatha, and other heroes of the early resistance to colonial conquest."
It was against the background of this land seizure and conquest that the Union of South Africa was created in 1910. Outwardly South Africa became an independent state, but in reality power was handed over by the British conquerors to whites who had settled in the country. They were able in the new Union of South Africa to formalize racial oppression and economic exploitation of blacks.
Following the creation of the Union, the passing of the Land Act, purporting to legalize the land seizures of the nineteenth century," gave impetus to the process leading to the formation of the African National Congress on January 8, 1912.I am not going to give you a history of the ANC. Suffice it to say that the last eighty years of our existence has seen the evolution of the ANC from its earliest beginnings aimed at uniting the African peoples, to its becoming the leading force in the struggle of the oppressed masses for an end to racism and the establishment of a non-racial, non-sexist, and demo-cratic state.
Its membership has been transformed from its early days when they were a small group of professionals and chiefs, etc., into a truly mass organization of the people.
Its goals have changed from seeking improvement of the lot of Africans to instead seeking the fundamental transformation of the whole of South Africa into a democratic state for all.
Its methods of achieving its more far-reaching goals have over decades taken on a more mass character, reflecting the increasing involvement of the masses within the ANC and in campaigns led by the ANC.
Sometimes people point to the initial aims of the ANC and its early composition in order to suggest that it was a reformist organization. The truth is that the birth of the ANC carried from the beginning profoundly revolutionary implications.The formation of the ANC was the first step towards creation of a new South African nation. That conception was de-veloped over time, finding clear expression thirty-six years ago in the Freedom Charter's statement that "South Africa belongs to all who live in it, black and white." This was an unambiguous rejection of the racist state that had existed and an affirmation of the only alternative that we find acceptable, one where racism and its structures are finally liquidated.
It is well known that the state's response to our legitimate democratic demands was, among other things, to charge our leadership with treason and, in the beginning of the 1960s, to use indiscriminate massacres. That and the banning of our organizations left us with no choice but to do what every self- respecting people, including the Cubans, have done—that is, to take up arms to win our country back from the racists.
I must say that when we wanted to take up arms we approached numerous Western governments for assistance and we were never able to see any but the most junior ministers. When we visited Cuba we were received by the highest officials and were immediately offered whatever we wanted and needed. That was our earliest experience with Cuban inter-nationalism.
Although we took up arms, that was not our preference. It was the apartheid regime that forced us to take up arms. Our preference has always been for a peaceful resolution of the apartheid conflict.
The combined struggles of our people within the country, as well as the mounting international struggle against apart-heid during the 1980s, raised the possibility of a negotiated resolution of the apartheid conflict. The decisive defeat of Cuito Cuanavale altered the balance of forces within the region and substantially reduced the capacity of the Pretoria regime to destabilize its neighbours. This, in combination with our people's struggles within the country, was crucial in bringing Pretoria to realize that it would have to talk.
It was the ANC that initiated the current peace process that we hope will lead to a negotiated transfer of power to the people. We have not initiated this process for goals any differ-ent from those when we pursued the armed struggle. Our goals remain achievement of the demands of the Freedom Charter, and we will settle for nothing less than that.
No process of negotiations can succeed until the apart-heid regime realizes that there will not be peace unless there is freedom and that we are not going to negotiate away our just demands. They must understand that we will reject any constitutional scheme that aims at continuing white privileges.
There is reason to believe that we have not yet succeeded in bringing this home to the government, and we warn them that if they do not listen we will have to use our power to convince them.
That power is the power of the people, and ultimately we know that the masses will not only demand but win full rights in a non-racial, non-sexist, democratic South Africa.But we are not merely seeking a particular goal. We also propose a particular route for realizing it, and that is a route that involves the people all the way through. We do not want a process where a deal is struck over the heads of the people and their job is merely to applaud. The government resists this at all costs because the ques-tion of how a constitution is made, how negotiations take place, is vitally connected to whether or not a democratic result ensues.The present government wants to remain in office during the entire process of transition. Our view is that this is unacceptable. This government has definite negotiation goals. It cannot be allowed to use its powers as a government to ad-vance its own cause and that of its allies and to use those same powers to weaken the ANC.
And this is exactly what they are doing. They have unbanned the ANC, but we operate under conditions substantially different from that of other organizations. We do not have the same freedom to organize as does Inkatha and other organizations allied to the apartheid regime. Our members are harassed and even killed. We are often barred from holding meetings and marches.We believe that the process of transition must be controlled by a government that is not only capable and willing to create and maintain the conditions for free political activity. It must also act with a view to ensuring that the transition is towards creating a genuine democracy and nothing else.
The present government has shown itself to be quite un-willing or unable to create a climate for negotiations. It re-neges on agreements to release political prisoners and allow the return of exiles. In recent times it has allowed a situation to be created where a reign of terror and violence is being unleashed against the African communities and the ANC as an organization.
We have had ten thousand people murdered in this violence since 1984 and two thousand this year alone. We have always said that this government that boasts of its professional police force is perfectly capable of ending this violence and prosecuting the perpetrators. Not only are they unwilling, we now have conclusive evidence, published in independent newspapers, of their complicity in this violence.
The violence has been used in a systematic attempt to advance the power of Inkatha as a potential alliance partner of the National Party. There is now conclusive evidence of funds provided by the government—that is, taxpayers' money—to Inkatha.
All of this indicates the necessity to create an interim government of national unity to oversee the transition. We need a government enjoying the confidence of broad sections of the population to rule over this delicate period, ensuring that counterrevolutionaries are not allowed to upset the process and ensuring that constitution making operates within an atmosphere free of repression, intimidation, and fear.
The constitution itself, we believe, must be made in the most democratic manner possible. To us, that can best be achieved through electing representatives to a constituent assembly with a mandate to draft the constitution. There are organizations that challenge the ANC's claim to be the most representative organization in the country. If that is true, let them prove their support at the ballot box.
To ensure that ordinary people are included in this process we are circulating and discussing our own constitutional proposals and draft bill of rights. We want these to be dis-cussed in all structures of our alliance—that is, the ANC, South African Communist Party, and Congress of South African Trade Unions, and amongst the people in general. That way, when people vote for the ANC to represent them. in a constituent assembly, they will know not only what the ANC stands for generally, but what type of constitution we want.
Naturally these constitutional proposals are subject to re-vision on the basis of our consultations with our membership, the rest of the alliance, and the public generally. We want to create a constitution that enjoys widespread support, loyalty, and respect. That can only be achieved if we really do go to the people.In order to avoid these just demands, various attempts have been made to undermine and destabilize the ANC. The violence is the most serious, but there are other more insidious methods. At present there is an obsession in the press, amongst our political opponents, and many Western govern-ments with our alliance with the South African Communist Party. Newspapers continually carry speculations over the number of Communists on our National Executive and allege that we are being run by the Communist Party.
The ANC is not a communist party but a broad liberation movement, including amongst its members Communists and non-Communists. Anyone who is a loyal member of the ANC, anyone who abides by the discipline and principles of the or-ganization, is entitled to belong to the organization.Our relationship with the SACP as an organization is one of mutual respect. We unite with the SACP over common goals, but we respect one another's independence and separate identity. There has been no attempt whatsoever on the part of the SACP to subvert the ANC. On the contrary, we derive strength from the alliance.We have no intention whatsoever of heeding the advice of those who suggest we should break from this alliance. Who is offering this unsolicited advice? In the main it is those who have never given us any assistance whatsoever. None of these advisers have ever made the sacrifices for our struggle that Communists have made. We are strengthened by this alliance. We shall make it even stronger.We are in a phase of our struggle where victory is in sight. But we have to ensure that this victory is not snatched from us. We have to ensure that the racist regime feels maximum pressure right till the end and that it understands that it must give way, that the road to peace, freedom, and democracy is irresistible.That is why sanctions must be maintained. This is not the time to reward the apartheid regime. Why should they be re-warded for repealing laws which form what is recognized as an international crime? Apartheid is still in place. The regime must be forced to dismantle it, and only when that process is irreversible can we start to think of lifting the pressure.
We are very concerned at the attitude that the Bush ad-ministration has taken on this matter. It was one of the few governments that was in regular touch with us over the ques-tion of sanctions, and we made it clear that lifting sanctions was premature. That administration nevertheless, without consulting us, merely informed us that American sanctions were to be lifted. We find that completely unacceptable.
It is in this context that we value our friendship with Cuba very, very much. When you, Comrade Fidel, yesterday said that our cause is your cause, I know that that sentiment came from the bottom of your heart and that that is the feel-ing of all the people of revolutionary Cuba.
You are with us because both of our organizations, the Communist Party of Cuba and the ANC, are fighting for the oppressed masses, to ensure that those who make the wealth enjoy its fruits. Your great apostle Jose Marti said, "With the poor people of this earth I want to share my fate."
We in the ANC will always stand with the poor and right- less. Not only do we stand with them. We will ensure sooner rather than later that they rule the land of their birth, that in the words of the Freedom Charter, "The people shall govern." And when that moment arrives, it will have been made possible not only by our efforts but through the solidarity, support, and encouragement of the great Cuban people.
I must close my remarks by referring to an event which you have all witnessed. Comrade Fidel Castro conferred upon me the highest honour this country can award. I am very much humbled by this award, because I do not think I deserve it. It is an award that should be given to those who have already won the freedom of their peoples. But it is a source of strength and hope that this award is given for the recognition that the people of South Africa stand on their feet and are fighting for their freedom. We sincerely hope that in these days that lie ahead we will prove worthy of the confidence which is expressed in this award.

As one antitrust lawyer I know put it: "Apparently, the government can't seem to get criminal trials involving financial executives (as opposed to, well, drug dealers) right. Go figure."

Elected Democrats across the nation have rightfully been inundated over the past year with questions regarding the Libyan embassy attack that killed four Americans in Benghazi. Though one might assume these politicians would at least have a canned response to such inquiries, one New Hampshire congresswoman proved how uninformed representatives can truly be.
During a town hall meeting, Democrat Rep. Ann Kuster fielded foreign policy questions from a number of constituents. When she addressed a question regarding Benghazi, however, her lack of preparedness was palpable.

She read a question pertaining to House Resolution 36, which advocates for the formation of a special committee to investigate the attack and subsequent response by American officials. Despite reading aloud the fact that this resolution originated in her congressional chamber, Kuster responded to the question by claiming it is “a Senate thing” and that she does not believe “we have anything about that in the House.”
While that embarrassingly obtuse assertion should be enough to question her qualifications as a representative, the situation only devolved further as she attempted to evade further questions on the subject.
One attendee pushed her to “address Benghazi,” at which point she said precisely nothing.
“What are you going to do about Benghazi?” the constituent continued. Kuster then began looking through her notes in apparent hopes that a response would somehow materialize out of thin air.
After being asked the same question thrice, Kuster finally provided an absurd answer.

“Well, I’m certainly not here to talk about it,” she confirmed. “We’re here to talk about the Middle East.”
Upon being informed that Libya is considered part of the Middle East, Kuster scrambled further and sought rescue from the nearby moderator.
Though she obviously struggled to form any pertinent response to a question about Benghazi, this congresswoman is not alone in her ignorance. Instead of developing informed opinions based on a study of the facts, leftists tend to address most issues by merely slandering their opponents.
While this tactic might be effective in campaign ads and MSNBC interviews, when confronted with real questions by real voters, these political hacks are exposed as the intellectual lightweights they truly are.
As of this writing, Kuster has not responded to a request for comment.

Obamacare may force volunteer firefighter companies to close
Apparently, the IRS doesn’t know what “volunteer” means. Wheelwrites, buggy whip makers, mom and pop grocery stores – all disappeared as a result of the march of progress.
But volunteer firefighter companies may go the way of the blacksmiths due to the destructive entity known as Obamacare.
Apparently, the IRS doesn’t know what “volunteer” means. They are classifying firefighters who volunteer their time to serve their communities as “employees.” This means that small municipalities have to purchase health insurance for their “workers” – cash they don’t have and aren’t likely to get.

Since the Obamacare law doesn’t specifically carve out an exemption for them, fire departments where 50 or more people work – either as volunteers or officially as employees – are expected to provide health insurance for every one of them.

If the president can exempt himself from his own atrocious law, why can’t the state of South Carolina do the same for its citizens? Well, it certainly appears that the Palmetto State is going to actually try to become the first state to pass a law that would free its citizens and businesses from the Affordable Care Act.
According to Cain.tv:
The bill is H3101 – “The South Carolina Freedom of Health Care Protection Act.” It passed the State House of Representatives back in May, but it failed to make it through the Senate before the body adjourned in June. Democrats rejoiced, but the celebration was premature. It remained on the Senate calendar, and has been fast-tracked for consideration when lawmakers reconvene for the next regular session in January.
The main segment of the bill says that “No agency of the State, officer or employee of this State, acting on behalf of the state, may engage in an activity that aids any agency in the enforcement of those provisions of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 and any subsequent federal act that amends the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 that exceed the authority of the United States Constitution.
State Senator Tom Davis (the Bill’s sponsor) recently told the Daily Caller:
Republicans are relying on the 10th Amendment and a Supreme Court ruling to make the new law stick…What the Supreme Court said in Printz v. United States is that states are not merely political subdivisions of the federal government to carry out what the federal government does. They are sovereign entities. Congress can pass laws, but it cannot compel the states to utilize either their treasury or personnel to implement those federal laws….The proposed legislation renders the Affordable Care Act void or inoperable through a handful of provisions.
And again from the Daily Caller:
Additional provisions of H3101 further neuter the Affordable Care Act by outlawing state exchanges, issuing tax deductions to individuals equal to the tax penalties levied by the federal government, and directing the state attorney general to sue over whimsical enforcement of the law. Taken together, the provisions effectively repeal the federal law for the people of South Carolina.
Many expect that the bill will pass and be signed quickly by Governor Nikki Haley. However, don’t expect the Obama administration to let South Carolina free from the president’s signature law without a fight. This is the same administration that sued states over immigration and voter ID laws.
Yet, if South Carolina Republicans can pull it off and pass this bill into law, the Palmetto State may very well be the model for the other 49 states to follow.

It's not simple incompetence, and Obama's not telling little white lies because he's simply too proud to admit that his health care scheme is an abysmal failure.

It's an act of sabotage and ObamaCare is one very large part of his grand scheme... andit's time for YOU to make a decision.
Are YOU going to let Barack Hussein Obama get away with it, or are YOU willing to take a proactive step to change the dialogue in Washington and work to remove Barack Obama from office?
Are YOU going to simply sit back on your couch and complain and hope that someone does something to stop this megalomaniac, or are YOU ready and willing to speak out and join the movement to REMOVE BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA?
No... it's not going to happen overnight, but as more ObamaCare shoes drop, the movement to remove Barack Obama will mainstream and you can start the ball rolling in a big way, right here are right now.
Obama Knew He Was Lying When He Said: "If You Like Your Health Care Plan. You'll Be Able To Keep Your Health Care Plan... PERIOD."
Barack Obama repeated that outrageous lie as late as 2012, but on Thursday, Forbes unveiled the smoking gun; an Obama administration commentary in the Federal Registerfrom June of 2010 that indicates that approximately 13 million people, who hold individual health care plans and 80 million people, who hold health care plans through their employer would lose their coverage.
Forbes summed it up as follows: "How many people are exposed to these problems? 60 percent of Americans have private-sector health insurance—precisely the number that Jay Carney dismissed. As to the number of people facing cancellations, 51 percent of the employer-based market plus 53.5 percent of the non-group market (the middle of the administration’s range) amounts to 93 million Americans."
And that 93 million-plus person figure (which is a conservative estimate by the way)doesn't include the tens of millions of people who will lose their health care plans because they either lose their jobs outright or move from full-time to part-time employment.
No one in the media or in Congress wants to say it, so we'll say it. Barack Obama didn't just lie... he's still lying. And Barack Obama isn't simply lying to cover his back-side... he's lying to swindle every person in the United States who either owns a business or collects a paycheck.
It's just one part of his grand scheme to destroy this great country, so he can then"fundamentally transform" it.
Barack Obama must be stopped and there's only one way to do it. This stain must be removed from the White House and that's only going to happen if patriotic Americans, like you, start to stand up and speak out.
Can We Actually Remove Barack Obama? Should We Remove Barack Hussein Obama?
To answer those questions, we really need to address the often misunderstood subject of what exactly constitutes an removeable offense, in order to illustrate that Barack Hussein Obama's actions are grave enough to warrant removal.
As former President Gerald Ford, while serving in the House of Representatives, put it: a removeable offense is, "whatever a majority of the House of Representatives considers it to be at a given moment in history."
Let's look at Article II, Section 4 of the Constitution again: "The President, Vice President and all civil officers of the United States, shall be removed from office on impeachment for, and conviction of, treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors."
The key phrase here is "high crimes and misdemeanors," a phrase grounded in English Common Law that was well-known to our Founding Fathers but is grossly misunderstood in this day and age.
"High crimes and misdemeanors" essentially means bad behavior.
Here's a passage from C-Span.org which succinctly and beautifully summarizes the historical significance surrounding the inclusion of the term "high crimes and misdemeanors" in the Constitution:
"'High crimes and misdemeanors' entered the text of the Constitution due to George Mason and James Madison. Mason had argued that the reasons given for impeachment - treason and bribery - were not enough... so Mason then proposed 'high crimes and misdemeanors,' a phrase well-known in English common law. In 18th century language, a 'misdemeanor' meant 'mis-demeanor,' or bad behavior." [Emphasis Ours]
In other words, "high crimes and misdemeanors" does not refer to a 'high' or 'lofty'criminal act (as some would lead you to believe).
It refers to a misdeed committed by a person occupying a high office and the Founders fully intended to allow for the removal of the President for actions which were... well... simply put... egregious... grossly incompetent... grossly negligent... outright distasteful... or, in the case of Barack Hussein Obama, actions which clearly show malevolence toward this country, which is unabated.
Make no mistake, for those who mistakenly hold the illusion that removing Barack Hussein Obama would be a simple matter of "playing politics," our Founders not only intended that the removal of a sitting President be a "political act" but set the bar extremely low for the removal of a sitting president.
As C-Span.org notes: "The Framers of the Constitution deliberately put impeachment into the hands of the legislative branch rather than the judicial branch, thus transforming it from strictly a matter of legal definition to a matter of political judgment."
The Obama Administration exemplifies maladministration. It qualifies as the poster-child for bad behavior. Obama and those around him are ravaging this great country and adding a sorry chapter to a noble history, and removal, as written in the Constitution, was tailor-made for Barack Hussein Obama and our Founders placed it in our Constitution for such a time as this.
It could be easily argued that we have a duty to remove Barack Hussein Obama. Of course, our elected officials won't have the back-bone to go it alone. That's where you come in.
Help us spread the word far-and-wide and our elected officials will come to know that the removal of Barack Hussein Obama is the will of the American people and that if they ignore the will of the people. they do so at their own political peril.
The question is not whether we should remove Barack Hussein Obama. Rather, the question is, can we remove Barack Hussein Obama before it is too late?
